How much does the OPS Ingersoll GANTRY EAGLE 1200 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the OPS Ingersoll GANTRY EAGLE 1200 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The OPS Ingersoll GANTRY EAGLE 1200 is a large-format gantry sinker EDM for big moulds: 1,010 mm (39.8 in) of X, 1,510 mm (59.4 in) of Y and 700 mm (27.6 in) of Z, over a table that carries 7,500 kg (16,534 lb).
On a machine this size the tank decides how the day goes. The maker lists no filling or emptying times, because the 1,270 x 1,770 x 680 mm (50.0 x 69.7 x 26.8 in) tank is raised and lowered while full. It also names complete and partial machining among the machine's features. The level is programmable up to 650 mm (25.6 in), so it can be set to the height the job needs.
Electrode handling changes at this size. In place of the rotary disc of the smaller frames, the standard changer is a pick-up linear magazine with 13 positions; 30 or 48 positions are optional. Single electrodes may weigh 25 kg (55 lb) for automatic changing, against 15 kg (33 lb) on the GANTRY EAGLE 800, and the magazine carries 150 kg (331 lb). For electrodes heavier still, a RAM clamping system mounts them on the head by pallet, with an optional 2/18 combi changer. Head load is 300 kg (661 lb) and C-axis torque 120 Nm (88.5 lb-ft).
Clearance under the chuck runs from 100 mm (3.9 in) to 800 mm (31.5 in), and the machine draws 18 kVA through 32 A fusing. OPS Ingersoll also offers a GANTRY EAGLE 1200plus with a taller tank for higher workpieces. Its figures appear only as footnotes in the brochure, so confirm them directly if the extra height matters.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- No filling or emptying times: the tank is raised and lowered while filled
- 7,500 kg (16,534 lb) table load on a 1,140 x 1,640 mm (44.9 x 64.6 in) table
- Up to 800 mm (31.5 in) between electrode chuck and table
- Linear magazine handles electrodes up to 25 kg (55 lb) each and 150 kg (331 lb) in total, 200 kg (441 lb) as an option
- RAM clamping system available for large, heavy electrodes on pallets
- 300 kg (661 lb) head load with 120 Nm (88.5 lb-ft) of C-axis torque
Limitations
- Only 13 changer positions as standard, fewer than on the GANTRY EAGLE 800
- Dielectric level is limited to 650 mm (25.6 in); taller work needs the plus variant
- No machine weight is given in this table; confirm floor loading with the maker
- Chiller cooling power is 3.9 kW, the same as on the far smaller GANTRY EAGLE 400
