Overview
The Onsrud 98E 5-Axis is the smallest 5-axis E-Series router: a heavy fixed-bridge machine with a table 48 in (1,220 mm) deep and a 28 in (711 mm) Z-stroke. Table X is 60 in (1,524 mm), 72 in (1,829 mm), 96 in (2,439 mm) or 120 in (3,048 mm) according to the width column, and the standard spindle is 18 hp (13.4 kW) at 24,000 rpm.
Onsrud builds this series for large-diameter tooling and deep, heavy cuts in dense wood, plastic, composites, fiberglass and nonferrous metals. In 5-axis form that makes it a machine for thick parts that need real stock removal on several faces, where a lighter trimming router would chatter.
Height depends on Z. The table lists 165 in (4,191 mm) for the 28 in stroke and 189 in (4,801 mm) for a 40 in (1,016 mm) stroke. Length is 179 in (4,547 mm) in the W5 column, which is longer than the 159 in (4,039 mm) of W6; W8 is 210 in (5,334 mm) and W10 243 in (6,173 mm).
