Overview
The Mazak INTEGREX e-RAMTEC series is a double-column multi-tasking machine with an extra vertical spindle: a ram, mounted next to the B-axis milling spindle, with 35.43 in of vertical stroke for turning and milling deep inside a bore. Mazak lists three models, the INTEGREX e-RAMTEC V/8, V/10 and V/12.
The ram exists for inner diameters that a tool in the milling spindle cannot reach, however long the tool. It has its own automatic tool changer and a dedicated magazine for 40 turning and milling tools, which also allows a change to spare tools during long jobs. The milling spindle beside it is CAT No.50 at 10,000 rpm, with 30 kW (40 HP) continuous and 191 Nm (141 ft-lb) continuous, on a B-axis with 150° of travel that a roller gear cam indexes in 0.0001° increments.
The table is the turning spindle. Maximum turning diameter runs from Ø49 in (1,245 mm) to Ø93 in (2,362 mm) and table load from 5,952 lb (2,700 kg) to 15,432 lb (7,000 kg). Table speed is 250 rpm to 500 rpm and continuous torque 2,167 Nm (1,598 ft-lb) to 5,307 Nm (3,914 ft-lb), depending on the model. The C-axis positions in 0.0001° increments.
The INTEGREX e-RAMTEC V/8 is the smallest: Ø49 in (1,245 mm) of turning diameter, 74 in (1,880 mm) of X, 42 in (1,067 mm) of Y, 63 in (1,600 mm) of Z and 101,413 lb (46,000 kg). The series reaches 120 in (3,048 mm) of X and 67 in (1,702 mm) of Y, at up to 192,243 lb (87,200 kg) and 248 in (6,299 mm) tall.
