Overview
The Mazak INTEGREX e-RAMTEC is a specialized vertical multi-tasking machine that adds a dedicated ram spindle for deep internal machining. The ram provides 900 mm (35.43 in) vertical stroke for reaching deep inside large workpieces, making it purpose-built for pump casings, valve bodies, and turbine housings with deep internal features.
Three sizes: V/8 (1,250 mm/49.21 in diameter x 1,250 mm tall), V/10 (2,000 mm/78.74 in x 1,440 mm), and V/12 (2,350 mm/92.52 in x 1,800 mm). All use CAT 50 or CAPT C6 tooling. B-axis provides 150 degrees of travel. Table speeds: 500 RPM (V/8), 300 RPM (V/10), 250 RPM (V/12).
Milling spindle options: 10,000 RPM standard, 5,000 RPM high-torque, 15,000 RPM high-speed. Dedicated ram tool magazine holds 40 tools, with optional TOOL HIVE providing 180+ tools. 2-pallet changer available. MAZATROL SmoothAi runs all models.
Competes with large VTL/boring mill combinations. New machines range from $900,000 (V/8) to over $2,500,000 (loaded V/12). Specs sourced from Mazak published data.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Dedicated 900 mm ram spindle stroke reaches deep inside workpieces that standard vertical spindles cannot access
- 150-degree B-axis on ram enables angular boring and milling inside complex internal geometries
- TOOL HIVE with 180+ tools provides capacity for extremely complex parts
- Three milling spindle options match speed and torque to application
- Workpiece diameters up to 2,350 mm handle the largest vertical multi-tasking with deep internals
- 2-pallet changer maximizes utilization at this machine’s operating cost
- Consolidates VTL, boring mill, and 5-axis mill into one machine
Limitations
- $900K to over $2.5M is among the most expensive multi-tasking machines available
- Ram spindle adds maintenance complexity beyond standard vertical mill-turn
- Lead times 12-24 months; larger models may take longer
- Trained technicians for the specialized ram system are extremely scarce
- Machine and workpiece weight combined can exceed 80,000 kg; substantial foundations required

Frequently Asked Questions
01
V/8 starts around $900K. V/10 $1.2M-$1.8M. V/12 above $1.8M, can exceed $2.5M with TOOL HIVE and 2-pallet.
02
The dedicated ram spindle with 900 mm stroke for deep internal machining is the defining difference. e-V uses standard vertical milling spindle. e-RAMTEC also adds 40-tool ram magazine and optional 180+ tool TOOL HIVE. Choose e-RAMTEC when parts have deep internal features.
03
Expanded tool storage holding 180+ tools for the ram spindle, vs standard 40-tool magazine. Essential for complex parts requiring extensive tool libraries for multiple internal operations.
04
For most applications with internal features up to 900 mm depth, yes. The e-RAMTEC adds turning and 5-axis milling that boring mills lack. For bores deeper than 900 mm, a dedicated boring mill may still be needed.
05
Professionally engineered reinforced concrete for combined 40,000-80,000+ kg. Foundation engineering is part of Mazak quotation. Plan 4-8 months for foundation work before delivery.
