LVD PPED 165/40 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the LVD PPED 165/40 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from LVD or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Four-metre bending starts here in the PPED line. The LVD PPED 165/40 puts 1,650 kN on a 4,000 mm (157.5 in) working length, and it is the lightest-force machine LVD sells in this series at that length.

That combination defines its use. Spread over the whole bed, 1,650 kN is a thin-sheet force: long cladding panels, trays, door skins, light sections. Shorter parts in heavier gauge can still use the full tonnage on part of the bed. The table's limit of 1,000 kN/m applies to those concentrated loads.

The uprights are 3,150 mm (124.0 in) apart. A full-length part therefore reaches into the frames, where the gap is 250 mm (9.8 in). If long parts with deep flanges are the main work, the PPED 200/40 has a 300 mm gap on the same bed.

Nothing in the drive changes with the extra length. The PPED 165/30 and this machine share an 18 kW motor, a 300 L tank and speeds of 110 mm/s approach, 10 mm/s working and 100 mm/s return. Stroke is 200 mm (7.9 in), open height 500 mm (19.7 in).

On a four-metre bed, order the version with crowning. LVD makes CNC crowning standard on PPED-5 and PPED-7 models of this size, and it is the feature that keeps the angle constant from the ends to the middle.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 4,000 mm (157.5 in) working length from an 18 kW machine
  • 110 mm/s approach speed carried over from the three-metre model
  • 3,150 mm (124.0 in) between uprights
  • CNC crowning standard on the PPED-5 and PPED-7 versions
  • 4-axis backgauge (X, R, Z1, Z2) available as standard equipment of the version

Limitations

  • 1,650 kN is modest for a four-metre bed
  • 250 mm (9.8 in) gap restricts flange depth on full-length parts
  • 500 mm (19.7 in) of open height
  • No machine weight in LVD's table for planning the foundation

Best For

Long panels and trays in thin sheet Architectural cladding and door skins Light sections up to 4,000 mm Shops that need length more than force

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Is 1,650 kN enough for four metres?

It depends on thickness and die opening, which LVD's table does not address. The force is the same as on the three-metre PPED 165/30, so on a full-length bend less is available for each metre. The next step in this length is the PPED 200/40 with 2,000 kN.

02 How wide is the frame opening?

3,150 mm (124.0 in) between the uprights, with a 250 mm (9.8 in) gap in the side frames for parts that run the full 4,000 mm (157.5 in).

03 Does the PPED 165/40 need front supports?

They are an option. LVD describes front supports that can be positioned quickly along the entire bending line. For long, thin blanks they are worth having, since the sheet otherwise hangs from the die.

04 What are the ram speeds on this model?

Approach 110 mm/s, working 10 mm/s, return 100 mm/s. In CE countries LVD supplies the machine with a safety system as standard, and the working speed is limited to the safety norm.
