Overview

The LiCON LiFLEX I 17136 is the large-format single-spindle LiFLEX: 1700 mm of X travel and 1300 mm of Y, with 650 mm of Z, in 4- or 5-axis configuration. The proportions say what it is for. Its X-Y window is far bigger than that of the LiFLEX I 1276, which has 1,250 mm (49 in) of X and 700 mm (28 in) of Y, while Z stays at 650 mm. This is a machine for big, comparatively flat parts, not deep ones.

The spindle follows the same logic. LiCON lists a single torque figure, 100 Nm, with speeds of 12000 - 30000 rpm on an HSK 63 interface. There is no HSK 100 option, and no higher torque as on the LiFLEX I 1276, which goes to 350 Nm (258 ft-lb). High speed with modest torque points to light-alloy work with small and medium tools, where metal removal comes from speed and feed.

Rapid traverse is 100 m/min, against 80 m/min (3,150 in/min) on the LiFLEX I 1276, with 12 m/s² of acceleration. An additional Z₂ axis is optional. With it the first interference cube figure rises from 1750 to 2200 mm, and the second figure is 1750 mm.

Tool capacity is 60 / 96 / 120 / 160 / 176 with extensions on request, and the process can be dry, coolant or MQL. No spindle power, table load or machine weight is given in the table.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 1700 mm of X travel and 1300 mm of Y, the largest working window of the single-spindle LiFLEX I models
  • Spindle speeds of 12000 - 30000 rpm on HSK 63 for high-speed cutting
  • 100 m/min rapid traverse with 12 m/s² acceleration
  • Optional Z₂ axis, which raises the first interference cube figure from 1750 to 2200 mm
  • Tool capacity from 60 up to 176, with extensions on request

Limitations

  • Spindle torque is 100 Nm only; the LiFLEX I 1276 offers 200 Nm (148 ft-lb) and 350 Nm (258 ft-lb) options
  • HSK 63 is the only listed interface, so large-shank tooling is not an option
  • Z travel of 650 mm is half the 1300 mm Y travel, which restricts deep parts
  • The table gives no spindle power, table load or machine weight
06

Best For

Large, flat light-alloy parts within 1700 mm of X and 1300 mm of Y High-speed machining at 12000 - 30000 rpm with HSK 63 tooling Long contouring paths that benefit from 100 m/min rapid traverse Parts that need the 2200 mm interference figure available with the Z₂ axis

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the travels of the LiFLEX I 17136?

LiCON lists 1700 mm in X, 1300 mm in Y and 650 mm in Z. The machine is offered in 4- or 5-axis configuration, and an additional Z₂ axis is listed as optional. Rapid traverse is 100 m/min with 12 m/s² acceleration.

02 What does the optional Z₂ axis change?

The interference cube row reads 1750 (2200 with Z₂) / 1750 mm for the A / B axes. With the additional Z₂ axis the first figure therefore rises from 1750 to 2200 mm, while the second figure stays at 1750 mm. The table gives no travel for Z₂ itself.

03 Which spindle is fitted to the LiFLEX I 17136?

The table lists 100 Nm of torque and a speed range of 12000 - 30000 rpm with an HSK 63 interface. Unlike the LiFLEX I 1276, which has 100 / 200 / 350 Nm (74 / 148 / 258 ft-lb) options and HSK 100, this model is listed with one torque figure and one taper.

04 How does the LiFLEX I 17136 compare with the LiFLEX I 1276?

The LiFLEX I 17136 has 1700 mm of X and 1300 mm of Y against 1,250 mm (49 in) and 700 mm (28 in) on the LiFLEX I 1276; both have 650 mm of Z. It is faster, at 100 m/min rapid against 80 m/min (3,150 in/min) on the LiFLEX I 1276, and its spindle runs to 30000 rpm but with 100 Nm only.
