Overview

The Kjellberg Smart Focus 300 covers medium and heavy plate in the Smart Focus series: 35 - 300 A of cutting current, a maximum cutting thickness of 80 mm (3.1 in) and a recommended range of 1 - 60 mm (0.04 - 2.4 in). Kjellberg's listing describes it as the model for consistent results in series production.

Its recommended range is the argument for it. The 60 mm that the Smart Focus 200 lists as its maximum is, on this unit, the top of the band recommended for regular work. Piercing rises as well, to 40 mm (1.6 in). A shop that has been running the Smart Focus 200 at its limit gets the same plate back inside the comfortable range.

The step costs supply capacity more than floor space. Cabinet size is unchanged at 1030 x 680 x 1450 mm. Weight goes to 488 kg (1,076 lb), the slow fuse to 125 A and the connected load to max. 79 kVA, all on 3x 400 V, 50 Hz and at a 100 % duty cycle rated at an ambient temperature of 40 °C.

Torches are the same as on the smaller units, a PerCut 2000 machine torch with a PerCut 4000 quick change head. The plasma gas row lists O2, Ar / H2, N2 and air, and swirl gases are O2, N2, F5 and Air, with F5 being forming gas. Marking uses 10 - 50 A.
