Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Juaristi TH5-MGX12 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
A 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) rotary table and up to 5,000 mm of X travel define the Juaristi TH5-MGX12, the larger of Juaristi's two TH-series 5-axis universal machining centers. Y and Z are each offered at 2,000, 2,500 or 3,000 mm, and X at 2,000, 3,000, 4,000 or 5,000 mm.
Size is the reason to pick it over the TH3-MGX8. The TH3-MGX8 stops at 4,000 mm in X, 2,500 mm in Y and Z, and an 8,000 kg table. Here the rotary table measures from 1,450×1,450 mm up to 2,000×2,500 mm, and it turns at 5 min-1. That is slow enough that the B axis should be thought of as a positioning and contouring axis.
The head data is shared with the smaller machine. A 45º automatic bi-rotative head indexes at 1º or 0.001º, a continuous 5-axis head swings +105/ -120º, head power is 37 / 46 kW and spindle speed is listed as 6,000-9,000-18,000 min-1. Nothing in the table scales the spindle with the bigger frame, so on heavy steel work the limit is more likely to be the head than the structure. Juaristi does say the series accepts a boring bar and a fixed horizontal spindle, which is the route to heavier cuts.
Even at this size the rapids stay at 40 m/min on X, Y and Z. The frame uses a central head on 4 vertical guides, two in front and two behind, and the machine is enclosed with a chip conveyor.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Table load of 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) on rotary tables up to 2,000×2,500 mm
- X travel to 5,000 mm with Y and Z up to 3,000 mm each
- Rapid traverse of 40 m/min on all three linear axes despite the size
- Choice of a 45º bi-rotative indexing head or a continuous 5-axis head, with speeds listed to 18,000 min-1
- Automatic pallet change with an FMS system and automatic head changes are offered by the maker
Limitations
- Head power is 37 / 46 kW, the same figures as the smaller TH3-MGX8, so the spindle does not grow with the machine
- Table rotation is a single 5 min-1 figure, slower than the 5-8 min-1 listed for the TH3-MGX8
- No torque, accuracy, tool dimensions or machine weight appear in the table
- Juaristi's series text quotes strokes of 4,000 – 2,500 – 2,500 mm, which is less than this model's table; confirm the travels on the quotation

Frequently Asked Questions
01
It is the larger frame. The TH5-MGX12 adds a 5,000 mm X option, takes Y and Z to 3,000 mm and carries 12,000 kg, against 4,000 mm, 2,500 mm and 8,000 kg for the TH3-MGX8. Head power, spindle speeds and the 40 m/min rapid traverse are the same in both columns of Juaristi's table.
02
Rotary table dimensions are given as 1,450×1,450 mm to 2,000×2,500 mm, with a load capacity of 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) and a rotation speed of 5 min-1. Juaristi does not publish a load figure per table size, so ask which table the full load applies to.
03
The table lists head power of 37 / 46 kW and spindle rotation speeds of 6,000-9,000-18,000 min-1. It does not state which speed goes with which power or head, and it gives no torque. Tool cones are BT-50 or HSK-A100 according to the maker's feature list.
04
Yes, by the maker's description. Juaristi lists automatic pallet change with an FMS system, automatic doors for loading and unloading pallets, automatic changing of turning, milling and boring heads, and tool changers of up to 160 positions (chain) or up to 400 (matrix or robot).
