Overview

The Johnford DMC-909 has a square working area, 900 x 900 mm (35.4 x 35.4 in) in X and Y, under a 60~15,000 rpm direct drive spindle. It is the smallest of the three High-speed DMC models, which Johnford groups with its high-speed vertical machining centers, and it comes with the die & mold high-speed machining package on the standard Fanuc 0i-MF PLUS control.

A square envelope is a mold maker's shape. Cavity inserts, electrode plates and round or square die blocks use Y as fully as X, and on a conventional C-frame machine of this X travel the Y axis would be far shorter.
