Overview
The Jainnher JHU-2706CNC is the smallest of Jainnher's CNC universal cylindrical grinders, with a 270 mm (10.6 in) swing, a 600 mm (23.6 in) grinding length and a 70 kg (154 lb) limit between centers. Maximum grinding diameter is 250 mm (9.8 in).
Universal is the word that matters. Where a plunge grinder does one thing quickly, this machine is laid out to do many things in one setup. The work head swivels through 120°, 90° counter-clockwise and 30° clockwise, its spindle can be locked or run in either direction, and an internal grinding attachment is on the options list. Jainnher's own sketches show taper grinding between centers, chuck work, straight plunge grinding, internal grinding and internal taper grinding on the same machine.
The short bed gives this model the widest table swivel of the family, 11° counter-clockwise and 6° clockwise, which is useful for shallow tapers ground by traversing. Longer beds swivel less. The JHU-2720CNC manages 5° and 3°.
Both axes are servo driven with a 0.001 mm setting unit, and the wheel head feeds at up to 6 m/min (236 ipm) over 175 mm (6.9 in) of travel. The wheel is listed as 405 x (25 ~ 50) x 152.4, with a 455 size optional, and the standard motor is 3.75 kW, 5 HP. On the CNC models an X-axis linear scale, a fully enclosed splash guard with oil mist collector and a touch probe gauge are standard. Gross weight is about 4,850 kg (10,692 lb).
