Overview
The Jainnher JHA-4008CNC is the top of Jainnher's CNC angular cylindrical range, combining the 400 mm (15.7 in) swing with the long bed: 1,000 mm (39.4 in) between centers and an 820 mm (32.3 in) grinding length.
As with the other pairs in this family, it shares a column of figures with its 350 mm sibling, the JHA-3508CNC, apart from swing and the printed grinding diameter of Ø380. A buyer choosing between them gives up nothing by taking the larger swing.
This is the model where installation deserves a paragraph. The fully enclosed machine weighs 8,080 kg (17,813 lb) net and 8,480 kg (18,695 lb) gross; semi enclosed it is 7,800 kg (17,196 lb) net. Three fluid systems have to be placed and maintained: a 60 L hydraulic tank for slideways and screw ends, a 50 L tank for wheel head lubrication and a 160 L coolant tank. Jainnher mounts the lubrication system apart from the machine to keep its vibration and heat away, and fits an oil cooler. The base is a single Meehanite casting with a box section that the maker says drains coolant quickly to avoid thermal distortion.
The wheel head carries a Ø610 wheel at 1,250 rpm, rated to 40 m/sec, on a hydrodynamic or hydrostatic spindle. Tailstock and work head take No. 4 centers, or No. 5 as an option, and the tailstock sleeve is 70 mm (2.8 in) in diameter with hydraulic retraction of 30 mm (1.2 in).
