Overview

The Hwacheon T2 is a family of 8 in chuck turning centers that can be ordered with one turret or two, with or without a Y axis, and with a second spindle or a tailstock. The codes spell out the build: 1T or 2T gives the number of turrets, Y marks the Y axis and S the second spindle, across eight versions from the T2-1TMC to the T2-2TYSMC. Every version shares an A2-6 main spindle running to 5,000 rpm with 15 / 11 kW (20.1 / 14.8 hp), a Ø76 mm (Ø3.0 in) bore and Ø65 mm (Ø2.6 in) bar capacity.

The second turret is the defining option. On 2T models a lower turret with its own X2 travel of 210 mm (8.3 in) and Z2 travel of 520 mm (20.5 in) works alongside the upper one, so roughing and finishing, or work on both spindles, can overlap in time. Each turret has 12 stations and indexes at 0.6 sec/step. The lower turret covers a smaller envelope: Ø390 mm (Ø15.4 in) by 437 mm (17.2 in), against Ø460 mm (Ø18.1 in) by 444 mm (17.5 in) from the upper turret.

S models add a second spindle with another 8 in chuck that travels 550 mm (21.7 in) on its B axis. Models without it carry a tailstock with a Ø80 mm (Ø3.1 in) quill, 590 mm (23.2 in) of travel and an MT #5 taper. Y models add 100 mm (3.9 in) of Y travel.
