How much does the Huron DX 200-5A nvu cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Huron DX 200-5A nvu that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Huron DX 200-5A nvu is the restyled version of the 500 mm DX 200 lathe with the A2-6 spindle. Capacity figures are those of the classic model: 365 mm (14.4 in) maximum turning diameter, 500 mm turning length, a 70 mm bore and 52 mm of bar capacity.
What the nvu generation changes is the machine around that capacity. Huron's feature list adds chip disposal at the rear and an operator panel that tilts through 90°, and states that an electro-spindle is available. The enclosure is wider, 1,680 mm against 1,540 mm for the DX 200-5 A, and slightly taller at 1,730 mm.
Spindle data are unchanged. The range is 50-4,000 rpm with 13.5/9 kW on the Siemens motor and 11/9 kW on the Fanuc motor. X travel is 200 mm, Z travel 500 mm and rapid feed 24 m/min. The tailstock has an 85 mm quill, 120 mm of stroke and 500 kgf of thrust.
One oddity in the nvu table concerns tooling. The tool size row reads 25 x 25 with no unit, and the unit column shows mm against the number of stations, which is 8. The intent is clear enough, but confirm shank size when ordering holders. Weight is 3,400 kg (7,496 lb), with 0.007 mm positioning.
