Honor Seiki VL-250CM

The Honor Seiki VL-250CM is the top of the Heavy Duty Series with driven tools: a vertical turning center that swings 3,000 mm (118.1 in), turns 2,970 mm (116.9 in) across and 1,480 mm (58.2 in) tall, carries 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) and has a 50-2,250 rpm live spindle with 16 tool positions.

Its option list is the widest in the series, and three entries on it change what the machine can be. A grinding function turns it into a turn-mill-grind platform for bearing seats and sealing faces that must be finished in the turning setup. An extended higher column raises the working height past the standard 1,480 mm. And a dual speed gearbox for the live tool spindle addresses the low-speed torque that large drills and face mills need. None of the three comes with figures on the page, so each has to be specified with Honor Seiki.

What is standard is clearer. The Solid lock clamping system is listed for the VL-250, the electrical cabinet air conditioner is standard for the CM series, and workholding is a table with a manual 4-jaw chuck. The structure is the series' box way design with a Meehanite cast column and bed.

Against the VL-250C, the CM adds the live spindle and four tool positions with no change in envelope or load. Beyond it, Honor Seiki's Large vertical lathe range starts with the VL-300CM at 3,600 mm (141.7 in) and 30,000 kg (66,138 lb). Live spindle power and taper, table speed and machine weight are not published for the VL-250CM.
