Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Honor Seiki VL-86H that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Of the three H models in the High Speed Series, the Honor Seiki VL-86H gives away the least. Swing is 1,000 mm (39.4 in) and turning diameter 860 mm (33.9 in), both equal to the VL-86A/AR, and turning height is 800 mm (31.5 in), only slightly under that machine's 810 mm (31.9 in). The one real difference is in the tool position row, which reads 4/6/8.
The smaller H machines trade more. The VL-46H loses turning diameter, at 460 mm (18.1 in), and the VL-66H loses height, at 620 mm (24.4 in). On the VL-86 frame the envelope is almost untouched, so the decision between the A/AR and the H column comes down to how the tools are carried rather than what size of part fits.
What kind of work favours a few tool positions? Large facing and boring cuts on cast iron and steel, where each tool is big, overhang has to be short and the operation list is brief. The chuck is 533 mm (21 in), the workpiece limit 850 kg (1,874 lb) and the spindle range 25-1,500 rpm. Honor Seiki says the spindle has a wide range motor, and offers a motor upgrade and a dual speed gearbox.
Be aware that the page's accessory list is written for the whole VL-86 series. It includes a hydraulic 3-jaw chuck with rotary cylinder as standard and a manual chuck as an option, which apply to any model. Entries that mention a turret are less certain for the H. Honor Seiki does not explain 4/6/8, and gives no spindle power, travels or machine weight.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Same 1,000 mm (39.4 in) swing and 860 mm (33.9 in) turning diameter as the VL-86A/AR
- 800 mm (31.5 in) turning height, close to the 810 mm (31.9 in) of the VL-86A/AR
- 850 kg (1,874 lb) on a 533 mm (21 in) hydraulic 3-jaw chuck
- Spindle motor upgrade and dual speed gearbox are optional
Limitations
- Tool positions are listed as 4/6/8, where the VL-86A/AR and VL-86M have 12
- The page does not explain the 4/6/8 options or which turret accessories apply
- Top spindle speed is 1,500 rpm
- Spindle power, torque and axis travels are not published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Hardly. Swing is 1,000 mm (39.4 in) and turning diameter 860 mm (33.9 in) on both. Turning height is 800 mm (31.5 in) on the VL-86H and 810 mm (31.9 in) on the VL-86A/AR. The chuck, speed range and workpiece weight are the same.
02
The table lists 4/6/8 tool positions. Honor Seiki does not describe the options behind that figure on the page, so the number in a given machine has to be confirmed at quotation. The VL-86A/AR and VL-86M have 12 tool positions.
03
The chuck diameter is 533 mm (21 in). The VL-86 standard accessories include a hydraulic 3-jaw chuck with rotary cylinder and soft jaws, and a manual chuck is available as an option for the VL-86 series.
04
25-1,500 rpm, the same as the rest of the VL-86 page. For low-speed torque Honor Seiki lists a dual speed gearbox for the spindle motor as an option, and a spindle motor upgrade is also available. Neither is given a power rating on the page.
