Overview
100,000 kg (220,459 lb) of table capacity sets the HNK HGH-60 apart from the HGH-40 more than its gear diameter does. This CNC gear hobbing machine cuts gears up to Ø6,000 mm (236.2 in) on a Ø3,000 mm (118.1 in) table, and its load rating is more than three times the 30,000 kg (66,138 lb) of the HGH-40.
The cutting side is carried over. Hob size is up to Ø500 mm (19.7 in) by 700 mm (27.6 in), the module limits are 30M for hobbing and 40M in the form milling row, the cutter head motor is 52 kW (69.7 hp) and hob speed 250 rpm, all as on the HGH-40. So the HGH-60 does not cut bigger teeth. It cuts the same teeth on much larger and far heavier blanks.
That points beyond bearing rings. A slewing ring of six metres weighs a few tonnes; a solid or fabricated girth gear, a large marine wheel or a mill pinion-gear set does not. The high load rating lets such blanks sit on the table with their fixtures.
Column travel (X) is 2,600 mm (102.4 in), hob head vertical travel (Z) 2,000 mm (78.7 in) and tangential travel (Y) 450 mm (17.7 in). The hob head swivels -45 to +45 degrees and the table indexes 0 to 360 degrees. HNK's series text still applies: inner and outer tooth cutting attachments are used alternately on the same machine.
