HNK HGG-1000 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the HNK HGG-1000 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from HNK or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The HNK HGG-1000 is a CNC gear grinding machine for gears up to Ø1,000 mm (39.4 in) outside diameter, the smallest of the four large HGG models. HNK describes the series as a profile grinding type and thread wheel grinding type machine, covering modules M1-M35 at helix angles of ±45°.

On this size the vertical working range is 650 mm (25.6 in). That figure limits face width plus the overrun the wheel needs at each end of the tooth, and it is the main thing that separates this model from the HGG-2000, which has 1,000 mm (39.4 in). Wheel data are shared between the two: a grinding wheel of up to 400 mm (15.7 in) diameter and up to 90 mm (3.5 in) thickness, a minimum shoulder diameter of 206 mm (8.1 in), and a top wheel speed of 4,000 rpm.

HNK lists several process aids. A double dressing system is said to minimize dressing time. Automatic balancing and an AE sensor are named among the operating devices, the second being the usual means of detecting first contact between wheel and tooth. Tooth calibration devices are cited for reliable results.

The grinding spindle drive is 24 kW (32.2 hp), with 37 kW (49.6 hp) in braces. Profile height is given as a maximum of 80 with no unit printed. The control is Siemens 840D; no alternative is listed.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Modules M1-M35 on gears up to Ø1,000 mm (39.4 in)
  • Wheel speed up to 4,000 rpm with a 24 kW (32.2 hp) grinding spindle
  • Double dressing system, which HNK says minimizes dressing time
  • Automatic balancing and AE sensor listed by the maker

Limitations

  • Vertical working range of 650 mm (25.6 in) is the shortest in the series
  • Only Siemens 840D is listed as the control
  • No workpiece weight or table data in the published table

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What size gears can the HGG-1000 grind?

Gears up to Ø1,000 mm (39.4 in) outside diameter, in modules M1-M35, with helix angles of ±45°. The vertical working range is 650 mm (25.6 in), which bounds the face width.

02 Is the HGG-1000 a profile grinder or a generating grinder?

HNK describes the HGG series as a Profile Grinding Type / Thread Wheel Grinding Type of gear grinding machine. The page does not say whether both methods are available on one machine or are ordered as alternatives, so that needs to be asked.

03 What grinding wheel does the HGG-1000 use?

A wheel of up to 400 mm (15.7 in) in diameter and up to 90 mm (3.5 in) thick, with a minimum shoulder diameter of 206 mm (8.1 in). Maximum wheel speed is 4,000 rpm.

04 How powerful is the HGG-1000 grinding spindle?

The grinding spindle drive power is 24 kW (32.2 hp). HNK prints 37 kW (49.6 hp) in braces after it, without a legend; on another HNK gear machine table a braced power figure is labelled as an option.
