Overview
The Heller H 5000 is a production horizontal machining center from the German manufacturer Heller, designed for high-volume automotive and industrial component machining. Heller is one of the largest HMC manufacturers globally, with deep roots in automotive powertrain production.
The H 5000 features a 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in) pallet with X/Y/Z travels of 800 x 800 x 800 mm (31.5 x 31.5 x 31.5 in). The spindle runs at 12,000 rpm with 32 kW (43 hp) on HSK-A63 taper. The tool magazine holds 60 tools as standard, expandable to 240 positions.
Rapids reach 60 m/min on all axes. The B-axis rotary table provides 360-degree indexing in 0.001-degree increments. Two-pallet shuttle is standard for part loading during machining. Chip-to-chip time is approximately 3.5 seconds.
Positioning accuracy +/- 0.005 mm, repeatability +/- 0.003 mm. Machine weight is approximately 14,500 kg. Runs on Siemens 840D sl or Fanuc 31i-B control.
The H 5000 is built for production -- Heller machines run in automotive plants across the world machining engine blocks, cylinder heads, transmission housings, and structural components.
New machines price $400,000-$600,000. Used 2015-2020 trade $200,000-$350,000.
