Heller H 4000

With 800 mm of travel on X, Y and Z and a 630 x 630 mm pallet, the Heller H 4000 is the mid-size HSK-A 63 horizontal machining center of the H range. Its closest relative is the H 5000, which shares the 800 mm travels and the 630 x 630 mm pallet but carries an HSK-A 100 spindle interface.

Load capacity is where the H 4000 needs care. Heller lists 750 kg as the standard table load and puts 850 kg and 1,400 kg in brackets as optional values. The top option matches the 1,400 kg that the H 5000 has as its only figure, so a heavy fixture does not by itself force the move to the larger taper. It does mean that two machines with the same model name can differ widely in rating. Check which one is on the order.

The largest workpiece is Ø 900 mm by 1,020 mm high. That diameter is wider than the pallet and the height is more than the 800 mm of Y travel, so tall fixtures are loaded for clearance and machined within the stroke. A 500 x 630 mm pallet is listed as an option for work that suits a narrower clamping surface.

Magazines run to 240 storage places in the chain-type version (4 magazines) and 324/498 places in the rack-type version (2 magazines). Through-spindle coolant is 50 bar, or 70 bar with frequency converter as an option, and the machine can be had with Siemens SINUMERIK ONE or Fanuc 31iB-Plus.
