How much does the Hartford Aero-646BL-5X cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford Aero-646BL-5X that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hartford Aero-646BL-5X is the largest Aero 5X machine with the L designation. Its table is 6,000 x 4,100 mm (236.2 x 161.4 in), X travel 6,000 mm (236.2 in), Y travel 4,600 mm (181.1 in) and Z travel 1,100 mm, optionally 1,300 mm.
That matters because of how Hartford assigns the X drive. The linear motor is limited to X axes of up to 6 meters. Longer machines, from 8 meters, are driven by rack and pinion. A buyer who wants linear motor dynamics on the biggest possible envelope therefore ends up at this model.
The envelope is large enough to nest a set of wing ribs or frames on one plate and machine them in a single program, or to take a full-size lay-up mould. Both kinds of work use the HSK-A63 spindle, listed at 18,000 or 24,000 rpm. The HSK-A100 at 12,000 rpm is the alternative for bigger cutters, and the maximum torque output of the B and C axes is 1,000 Nm.
Supporting a beam this wide are four linear guideways on X and three on Y, roller type on all three linear axes. The 5-faced Aero-646B on the same table carries a #50 gear head at 6,000 rpm.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Largest table available with the linear motor: 6,000 x 4,100 mm (236.2 x 161.4 in)
- 4,600 mm (181.1 in) of Y travel
- HSK-A63 at 18,000 or 24,000 rpm; HSK-A100 at 12,000 rpm
- B and C axes with 1,000 Nm maximum torque output
Limitations
- No longer machine has the linear motor on X
- Spindle power is missing from the table
- Z travel of 1,100 mm or 1,300 mm limits deep moulds
