Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford 5BC-534 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Hartford's 5BC-534 is a five-metre 5-axis double-column machining center with the wider of two gantry strokes offered over a 2,200 mm table. X travel is 5,000 mm (196.9 in) and Y travel is 3,400 mm (133.9 in). The table is 5,000 x 2,200 mm (196.9 x 86.6 in).
The table takes 15,000 kg (33,069 lb), the same as on the 5BC-529. So the two machines hold the same parts; the 5BC-534 simply reaches further around them. With the head swung to horizontal, the spindle nose, the tool and the head body all have to fit between the part and the column. A Y stroke of 3,400 mm over a table 2,200 mm wide leaves that room on both sides.
Both head axes are torque-rated at 1,000 NM. The spindle is built in, HSK-A63 at 15,000 / 24,000 rpm or HSK-A100 at 12,000 rpm, and the Z ram travels 1,000 mm or optionally 1,200 mm on four linear guideways.
Hartford's page shows a display designed for Heidenhain TNC 640 and lists automatic 5-axis error compensation. The columns are one-piece castings joined to the base over 1250 mm of contact area.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 3,400 mm (133.9 in) Y travel for full side access on a 2,200 mm wide table
- 5,000 mm (196.9 in) X travel with a 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) table load
- B and C axes with 1,000/1,000 NM maximum torque
- Automatic 5-axis error compensation listed by Hartford
- Choice of HSK-A63 or HSK-A100 built-in spindle
Limitations
- Same table and load as the 5BC-529, so the wider gantry adds reach but not capacity
- Z travel of 1,000 mm, with 1,200 mm only as an option
- The 24,000 rpm spindle is HSK-A63 only, with a 7 kg tool limit
- No published positioning accuracy for the linear or rotary axes
