How much does the Hartford Aero-2225B cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford Aero-2225B that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hartford Aero-2225B is the smallest gantry type 5-faced machining center in the Aero series. X travel is 2,200 mm (86.6 in), Y travel 2,500 mm (98.4 in), and the table measures 2,200 x 2,000 mm (86.6 x 78.7 in).
Unusually for a gantry, Y is the longer axis. The work area is close to square, and the table is rated at 5,000 kg/m², a figure given per area as on the other Aero models. For compact but heavy workpieces, such as die blocks, pump bodies and thick mould plates, that rating is the reason to consider a gantry of this size over a moving-table machine.
Five-face machining is done with heads. Hartford states the machine can operate with an auto universal head, a 90 degree head and an extension head, changed by a full automatic head changer that has a protective cover and an independent head magazine. The C axis of the angular head indexes in steps of 1 degree.
The standard spindle is a #50 gear head at 6,000 rpm, with 8,000 rpm optional. Hartford's own i-Tech hybrid spindle at 10,000 rpm is a further option. Z travel is 1,000 mm, or 1,200 mm, and the magazine is offered as an S type for 30 tools or an A type for 40, each with a larger optional size.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Table rated at 5,000 kg/m² in a compact gantry
- Y travel of 2,500 mm (98.4 in) over a 2,000 mm wide table
- Automatic head changer for universal, 90 degree and extension heads
- Optional i-Tech hybrid spindle at 10,000 rpm
Limitations
- X travel is only 2,200 mm (86.6 in)
- Hartford's table gives no spindle power for the gear head
- C-axis positioning of the head is indexed in 1 degree steps, not continuous

Hartford calls it a gantry type 5-faced machining center. It reaches the side faces with indexing heads; the C axis indexes by 1 degree. The simultaneous five-axis version of this size is the Aero-2225BL-5X, which lists HSK spindles at 24,000 rpm and 12,000 rpm.
03
A #50 gear head at 6,000 rpm, with 8,000 rpm as an option. Hartford also offers its self-made i-Tech hybrid spindle at 10,000 rpm as an option and gives a built-in motor maximum of 35 kW and 600 N-m in that context.

Yes. The Aero-2232B keeps 2,200 mm of X travel and has a 2,200 x 2,700 mm (86.6 x 106.3 in) table with 3,200 mm (126.0 in) of Y travel.
