Overview
The GF AgieCharmilles CUT 2000 is the extra-large-format wire EDM for shops working with the biggest die plates and mold components in the industry. With 1,200 x 700 x 500 mm (47.2 x 27.6 x 19.7 in) of X/Y/Z travel, this machine handles parts that will not fit on any compact or mid-size wire EDM, including full-size automotive stamping dies, large extrusion tooling, and massive progressive die assemblies.
The IPG generator delivers up to 350 mm2/min on standard tool steel. On a machine this size, cutting speed matters enormously since individual cuts can run for days. The generator maintains Ra 0.10 um (4 uin) surface finish capability even at high speeds.
Workpiece capacity is 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) on a table that accepts parts up to 1,800 x 1,200 x 500 mm (70.9 x 47.2 x 19.7 in). The work tank is sized for adequate dielectric circulation around the largest workpieces.
ICP collision protection, automatic wire threading, and UNIQUA HMI are all standard. Wire range is 0.10-0.33 mm, and U/V travel extends to +/-100 mm for taper cutting. Positioning accuracy is 5 um across the full 1,200 mm X-travel.
The CUT 2000 requires over 20 square meters of floor space and weighs approximately 14,000 kg (30,864 lb) without dielectric. Installation requires proper floor preparation for the weight and vibration isolation.
