How much does the Danobat Mikroturn Baseline cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Danobat Mikroturn Baseline that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Danobat Mikroturn Baseline is the only machine in the Mikroturn hard turning range that Danobat's table lists with a Fanuc 0i control; every other column shows Siemens Sinumerik One. In capacity it is level with the Mikroturn 100: 380 mm (15 in) of turning diameter without a tailstock, Ø200 x 350 mm (Ø7.8 x 13.7 in) between centers and a 4,000 rpm spindle.
Mikroturn machines are fully hydrostatic horizontal lathes for finishing hardened workpieces, up to 70 HRC according to Danobat, to tolerances that would otherwise call for grinding. The main spindle is hydrostatic with a guaranteed runout error of ≤ 0.1 µm. The guideways are hydrostatic too, with 1 µm positioning and 0.2 µm repeatability under linear scale control. Because nothing in spindle or slides touches metal to metal, there is nothing there to wear.
Both the base and the main spindle housing are natural granite, and vibration absorbing mounts isolate the granite from the machine's metal frame. Heat sources and vibrating elements are placed outside the machining area. All of that is common to the range, so the Baseline shares the precision platform of its siblings and differs in control and layout.
Two points need checking before an order. First, the control: the specification table says Fanuc 0i for this model, while the series text speaks of Siemens Sinumerik One or Fanuc 32i with 0.01 µm resolution. Second, floor space. The Baseline is listed at 8.6 m² (93 sqft), more than the 6.5 m² (70 sqft) of the Mikroturn 100, so it is the entry model by control rather than by size.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Hydrostatic main spindle with a guaranteed runout error of ≤ 0.1 µm
- Hydrostatic guideways with 1 µm positioning and 0.2 µm repeatability, controlled by linear scales
- Fanuc 0i control in Danobat's table, for shops standardised on that control family
- Same 380 mm (15 in) turning diameter and Ø200 x 350 mm (Ø7.8 x 13.7 in) between-centers capacity as the Mikroturn 100
- Natural granite base and spindle housing on vibration absorbing mounts
Limitations
- Occupies 8.6 m² (93 sqft), against 6.5 m² (70 sqft) for the Mikroturn 100 of equal capacity
- Control naming is inconsistent on the maker's page: Fanuc 0i in the table, Fanuc 32i in the text
- Between-centers work is limited to Ø200 x 350 mm (Ø7.8 x 13.7 in)
- No spindle power, torque, axis travel or rapid rate is published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Danobat's specification table lists Fanuc 0i for the Baseline, the only model not shown with Siemens Sinumerik One. The descriptive text for the series mentions Siemens Sinumerik One or Fanuc 32i CNC control with 0.01 µm resolution. Since the two statements name different Fanuc models, have the exact control confirmed in the quotation.
02
Up to 380 mm (15 in) in diameter without the tailstock, and up to Ø200 x 350 mm (Ø7.8 x 13.7 in) between centers. Spindle speed is 4,000 rpm. Workholding options listed for the range are an air chuck and a magnetic chuck, with a tailstock and steady rest for long workpieces.
03
The published figures are for the platform: a guaranteed main spindle runout error of ≤ 0.1 µm, and hydrostatic guideways with 1 µm positioning and 0.2 µm repeatability controlled by linear scales. Danobat does not publish a workpiece tolerance on the horizontal Mikroturn page.
04
The turning diameter, between-centers capacity and 4,000 rpm spindle speed are the same. The Baseline is listed with a Fanuc 0i control and 8.6 m² (93 sqft) of floor space. The Mikroturn 100 is listed with Siemens Sinumerik One and 6.5 m² (70 sqft).
