How much does the Danobat MTG Vertical cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Danobat MTG Vertical that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Danobat MTG Vertical combines hard turning and fine grinding on a vertical table for rings up to 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in diameter and 300 mm (11.8 in) in height. It is the vertical counterpart of the MikroTurnGrind horizontal hybrids, and the only vertical hybrid Danobat lists.
How the two processes share one machine is stated in a single table row: positioning is by a RAM in the Z axis by means of a Hirth coupling. The option list adds that the turning RAM and the grinding spindle are changed out, and names a 46-position tool changer. So the tool carrier itself is exchanged between processes and located on a toothed coupling, which is a rigid, repeatable way to index. A dresser unit is listed with the grinding spindle.
Spindle speed is 800 rpm, four times the 200 rpm of the turning-only Mikroturn Vertical 1000V2 at a similar diameter. That fits a machine that must also drive the part for grinding and reach smaller diameters. The table spindle is hydrostatic with guaranteed runout of ≤ 0.1 µm, and the hydrostatic guideways give 1 µm positioning and 0.2 µm repeatability. Danobat's headline for the machine is ≤ 2 µm form and size tolerances.
At 18.3 m² (197 sqft) it needs about half the floor of the Mikroturn Vertical 1000V2, which is listed at 36 m² (387.5 sqft). The control is Siemens Sinumerik One, with 0.01 µm resolution given in the text. Danobat describes the machine as easily and quickly converted to a different type of workpiece, which it presents as the saving in a production environment with small to medium batch sizes.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Hard turning and fine grinding on one vertical table, without changing machine or fixture
- 800 rpm spindle speed at a 1,000 mm (39.4 in) turning diameter
- Turning RAM and grinding spindle exchanged on a Hirth coupling in the Z axis
- 46-position tool changer available
- ≤ 2 µm form and size tolerances stated by Danobat
- 18.3 m² (197 sqft) of floor space, against 36 m² (387.5 sqft) for the Mikroturn Vertical 1000V2
Limitations
- Turning height is 300 mm (11.8 in), less than the 350 mm (13.8 in) of the Mikroturn Vertical 1000V2
- No grinding capacity, wheel size or grinding spindle data is published
- The 46-position tool changer and the change-out system are listed as customisation items
- A single size is offered; the 1,500 mm (59 in) class exists only as the turning-only Mikroturn Vertical 1500V4

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Maximum turning diameter is 1,000 mm (39.4 in) and maximum turning height is 300 mm (11.8 in). Magnetic chucks and air operated chucks are the listed workholding.
02
The table describes positioning as a RAM in the Z axis by means of a Hirth coupling, and the options list a change out of turning RAM and grinding spindle together with a 46-position tool changer. Danobat adds that a workpiece can be finished with the most suitable process without switching machines or even the fixture.
03
The Mikroturn Vertical 1000V2 is a turning-only machine: 1,000 mm (39.37 in) by 350 mm (13.8 in), 200 rpm, 36 m² (387.5 sqft). The MTG Vertical adds grinding, runs at 800 rpm, has a turning height of 300 mm (11.8 in) and takes 18.3 m² (197 sqft).
04
Danobat states ≤ 2 µm form and size tolerances for the workpiece. Machine figures are guaranteed runout of ≤ 0.1 µm on the hydrostatic main spindle, 1 µm positioning and 0.2 µm repeatability on the hydrostatic guideways with linear scales, and 0.01 µm control resolution.
