How much does the CMS Time 100 cost?

Price estimate

Uncertain

We do not have a price for the CMS Time 100 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.

CMS Time 100 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the CMS Time 100 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from CMS or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The CMS Time 100 is a 3-axis mobile-gantry machining centre for plastics, with a routing unit of up to 15 kW at 24000 rpm and a Z axis stroke of 250 mm (9.8 in). CMS addresses it to signage, nesting and technical-article work, and builds it with Pro-Space safety systems so that the work surface can be reached from every side.

Five models are listed: 12, 15, 18, 22-31 and 22-43. Almost every row of the table is the same for all of them. The tool changer is the exception, holding 12 tools on model 12, 15 on model 15, 17 on model 18 and 20 on the two largest. CMS prints no table dimensions next to the model codes, so ask what sheet size each one takes.

This is a sheet machine. The Z axis panel passage is 150 mm (5.9 in) and the vectorial speed in X-Y is 35 m/min, moderate figures that fit cutting flat stock and letters more than fast trimming. A drilling unit with up to 12 independent vertical and 6 independent horizontal spindles is listed, along with an integrated blade in X of 125 mm (4.9 in) that turns at up to 10000 rpm.

Two details are aimed at sign makers. Special devices survey graphic reference marks, so a printed sheet can be cut in register. An interpolating Vector axis rotates angular transmission heads through 360° on the X-Y plane. The laminated aluminium worktable has a magnetic system for closing off vacuum areas, and vacuum is supplied by up to 4 pumps.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Routing unit of up to 15 kW at 24000 rpm on a compact Pro-Space machine
  • Work surface accessible from all sides, with no perimeter protections
  • Devices for graphic reference survey for cutting printed sheets
  • Interpolating Vector axis gives 360° rotation of angular transmission heads
  • Magnetic system for vacuum closing on the laminated aluminium worktable

Limitations

  • 3-axis machine; no 5-axis unit is listed
  • Vectorial speed in X-Y is 35 m/min, less than half the 78 m/min PRO-SPEED figure of the Tracer 100
  • Z axis panel passage of 150 mm (5.9 in) limits it to sheet and low parts
  • Tool changer holds 12 tools on model 12 and no more than 20 on the largest models

Best For

Signage and display work in acrylic and other plastic sheet Nesting of technical plastic parts from flat stock Workshops that need access to the table from all sides

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Is the Time 100 a 3-axis or a 5-axis machine?

CMS describes it as a 3-axis machining centre. An NC-controlled interpolating Vector axis is available to rotate and position angular transmission heads through 360° on the X-Y working plane, which is useful for cuts that have to follow a contour.

02 How do the Time 100 models differ?

The table lists models 12, 15, 18, 22-31 and 22-43. Speeds, strokes, spindle and drilling rows are identical. The maximum number of tools on the tool changer is 12 on model 12, 15 on model 15, 17 on model 18 and 20 on models 22-31 and 22-43.

03 What drilling equipment is listed?

Up to 12 independent vertical spindles and 6 independent horizontal spindles at a maximum of 8000 rpm. The unit includes an integrated blade in X with a diameter of 125 mm (4.9 in) and a maximum rotation speed of 10000 rpm.

04 What is the vertical capacity of the Time 100?

The Z axis stroke is 250 mm (9.8 in) and the Z axis panel passage is 150 mm (5.9 in). For taller parts, the Tracer 100 lists a panel passage of 180 mm (7.1 in) with 250 mm (9.8 in) as an option.
