Overview
The Chevalier QP2040-L gives 40.2 in (1,020 mm) of X travel with a high-speed spindle, on a 47.2 in x 20.1 in (1,200 x 510 mm) table. It is the QP series model for long parts on a standard-depth machine: Y is 20.9 in (530 mm) and Z 20.1 in (510 mm), with 23.0 in (585 mm) from spindle center to column.
Two neighbours define it. The QP2033-L is the same machine with a shorter X axis and table. The QP2440-L keeps the 40.2 in X travel and adds Y, Z and throat depth on a wider table. A shop choosing among the three is really choosing how much of the part hangs in Y, since the spindle, changer and controls are the same on all of them.
That spindle is a #40 Big Plus unit with a 2.8 in (70 mm) diameter, available as belt drive at 100 to 10,000 rpm or direct drive at 120 to 12,000 rpm. The 24+1 arm type magazine changes in 2 sec tool-to-tool and holds tools up to 11.8 in (300 mm) long. Cutting feed is 39.3 to 393 ipm.
