Overview
The Brother Speedio W1000Xd1 is a 1,000 mm (39.4 in) X-axis BT30 machining center on the CNC-D00 control, with 500 mm (19.7 in) of Y, 300 mm (11.8 in) of Z and a 1,100 x 500 mm (43.3 x 19.7 in) table. Brother has discontinued this model, so buyers will find it as a used machine.
One row sets it apart on paper: through-spindle coolant is offered at 1.5 MPa or at 7.0 MPa, both as options. The higher-pressure version is the one to look for if the work includes deep holes with small drills, where coolant pressure clears chips from the hole. On a used machine, confirm which pump, if any, was fitted, along with the dual-contact spindle option.
Against the SPEEDIO S1000X1, which shares its travels and table, the W1000Xd1 changes the control from CNC-C00 to CNC-D00, raises continuous spindle output from 6.7 kW to 7.0 kW, and shortens the tool change to 0.6 sec tool to tool and 1.2 sec chip to chip from 0.8 sec and 1.4 sec. The 10-minute rating stays at 10.1 kW. Spindle choices remain 10,000 rpm as standard, 16,000 rpm as an option and a high-torque 10,000 rpm option, with tapping to 6,000 rpm.
The magazine holds 14 or 21 tools of up to 110 mm (4.3 in) diameter, 250 mm (9.8 in) length and 3.0 kg (6.6 lb). Table load is 300 kg (661.3 lb), or 400 kg (881.8 lb) with the option, spread over a table long enough for two or three vises in a row. Rapids are 50 / 50 / 56 m/min (1,969 / 1,969 / 2,205 ipm).
The machine weighs 3,350 kg (7,386 lb), stands 2,553 mm (100.5 in) high and covers 2,410 x 2,443 mm (94.9 x 96.2 in). It takes a 200 to 230 V 3-phase supply and 45 L/min of air at 0.4 to 0.6 MPa.
