How much does the Baykal BLE CFS cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Baykal BLE CFS that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Baykal BLE CFS is a coil fed fiber laser cutting system: a 1,500 mm (59.1 in) square laser cell with a decoiler and a straightener feeder in front of it, so that parts are cut from strip pulled off a coil instead of from stacked sheets. Laser power is 1 kW to 4 kW.
The coil line is what defines the machine. The decoiler takes 6,000 kg (13,228 lb) on a single hydraulic expansion drum with a hydraulic hold down arm, a coil loading car and a 3.0 kW (4.0 hp) AC motor. Loop control uses a distance controlled laser sensor. Coil centering is manual. Behind it, 7 straightener rolls of 100 mm (3.9 in) diameter, arranged 4 bottom and 3 top, flatten the strip, and 2 feeder rolls of 125 mm (4.9 in) with pneumatic pressure adjustment push it into the cutting area.
The laser side is close to the smaller Baykal machines. Rapid traverse is 95 m/min, vector speed 135 m/min and acceleration 1.5G (15 m/s²), on a Wittenstein rack and pinion with Beckhoff rotary servos. Positioning accuracy is ± 0.03 mm and repeatability ± 0.04 mm. The head is a Precitec ProCutter Thunder as standard or a ProCutter 2.0 as the option.
Coil stock is usually thin, and the capacity table is generous for it: 12 mm (0.47 in) mild steel at 1 kW and 22 mm (0.87 in) at 4 kW, with stainless at 5 mm (0.20 in) and 12 mm (0.47 in). What the decoiler and straightener can physically feed will be the tighter limit, and the data sheet gives no strip thickness range, so ask for it.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Cuts directly from coil: decoiler rated 6,000 kg (13,228 lb) with a coil loading car
- 7 straightener rolls (4 Bottom / 3 Top) of 100 mm (3.9 in) diameter ahead of the cutting area
- Loop control by a distance controlled laser sensor
- Laser power from 1 kW to 4 kW with a Precitec ProCutter Thunder head as standard
- Automatic nozzle cleaning and calibration
Limitations
- Coil centering is manual, so each new coil is lined up by the operator
- The data sheet gives no strip thickness or strip width range for the straightener feeder
- Single table with a 750 kg (1,653 lb) load; no exchange table is listed
- The fume extractor is optional

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Baykal calls it a Coil Fed Fiber Laser Cutting System. The data sheet has separate sections for the CFS decoiler and the CFS straightener feeder, which sit ahead of a 1,500 mm (59.1 in) by 1,500 mm (59.1 in) laser cutting area.
02
The decoiler's coil loading capacity is 6,000 kg (13,228 lb). It uses a single drum with hydraulic expansion, a hydraulic coil hold down arm and a coil loading car, driven by a 3.0 kW (4.0 hp) AC motor.
03
Through 7 straightener rolls of 100 mm (3.9 in) diameter in a 4 Bottom / 3 Top arrangement, then 2 feeder rolls of 125 mm (4.9 in) diameter whose pressure is adjusted pneumatically. Loop control is by a distance controlled laser sensor.
04
Laser power is 1 kW to 4 kW from an IPG, nLIGHT or Max Photonics source. Rapid traverse is 95 m/min, vector speed 135 m/min, acceleration 1.5G (15 m/s²), and the programmable feed rate goes up to 50 m/min.
