Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Machitech Fiber Prime S 5x10 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Machitech Fiber Prime S 5x10 is the fastest machine in Machitech's laser range. It accelerates at 4 G and reaches a rapid speed of 9,500 ipm (240 m/min), figures the three larger Fiber Prime S sizes do not match, and it takes sources from 12 to 60 kW.
Small bed, high dynamics, high power: the combination is aimed at thin and medium sheet cut in volume. On parts with many short contours a head spends most of its time changing direction, and there acceleration matters more than top speed. The Fiber Prime S 6x12 and the two sizes above it are listed at 2.8 G and 7,875 ipm (200 m/min).
Sheet capacity is 122 in (3,100 mm) by 63 in (1,600 mm). Thickness depends on the source. The table runs from 1.5 in (40 mm) of mild steel at 12 kW to 4 in (100 mm) at 60 kW, with stainless steel and aluminum reaching the same 4 in (100 mm) at full power. The workpiece weight of 5,950 lbs (2,700 kg) is given for a 3 in steel plate.
Machitech isolates the bed from the motion platform, so a heavy plate does not load the frame the gantry runs on. Shuttle tables lift hydraulically. The Precitec head was made for this model, with gas mixing at the head and automatic focus compensation, and a Machitech bevel head cuts V, X, Y and K preparations. The machine is 389 in (9,880 mm) long, 126 in (3,198 mm) wide and weighs 25,350 lbs (11,500 kg) without source, chiller and dust collector.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 4 G of acceleration and 9,500 ipm (240 m/min) rapid speed, the highest in the range
- Laser sources from 12 to 60 kW
- Bed isolated from the motion platform
- Hydraulic shuttle tables built for heavy loads
- Bevel head for V, X, Y and K cuts
Limitations
- Sheet limited to 122 in (3,100 mm) by 63 in (1,600 mm)
- Workpiece weight of 5,950 lbs (2,700 kg) is the lowest of the Fiber Prime S sizes
- At 25,350 lbs (11,500 kg) it weighs far more than the Fiber Prime 5x10
- No source below 12 kW is offered

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Acceleration is 4 G and rapid speed 9,500 ipm (240 m/min). The other Fiber Prime S sizes, such as the Fiber Prime S 6x12, are listed at 2.8 G and 7,875 ipm (200 m/min).
02
It depends on the source. At 12 kW the table gives 1.5 in (40 mm) for mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum. At 60 kW it gives 4 in (100 mm) for all three, 0.8 in (20 mm) for copper and 1.2 in (30 mm) for brass.
03
Workpiece weight is 5,950 lbs (2,700 kg), which Machitech states for a 3 in steel plate. The shuttle tables use a hydraulic lifting mechanism.
04
Total length 389 in (9,880 mm), total width 126 in (3,198 mm), total height 105 in (2,680 mm). Weight is 25,350 lbs (11,500 kg) with standard equipment, without the laser source, chiller and dust collector.
