Overview
The Amada ORSUS 3015 AJe is a fibre laser cutting machine with a 3070 x 1550 mm working range and three oscillator choices: 3000 W, 6000 W and 8000 W. Its power list stops lower than those of the other machines Amada builds around a 920 kg table. The ENSIS 3015 AJe goes to 15000 W and the REGIUS 3015 AJe to 26000 W on the same table load.
On this machine the oscillator changes what can be cut in mild steel at each step. Amada lists 12 mm at 3000 W, 22 mm at 6000 W and 25 mm at 8000 W. Stainless steel and aluminium behave differently: 15 mm and 12 mm respectively at 3000 W, then 25 mm for both at 6000 W with nothing further gained at 8000 W. Brass is 8 mm at 3000 W and 15 mm on the two larger units. Copper is the other material that rewards the top oscillator, at 6 mm, 10 mm and 12 mm across the three. The 8000 W option therefore earns its place on mild steel above 22 mm and copper above 10 mm, while stainless or aluminium work already reaches the listed maximum at 6000 W.
One detail is easy to miss. At 3000 W the stainless limit of 15 mm is higher than the mild steel limit of 12 mm. A shop cutting carbon steel plate should size this machine from the mild steel row and not from the stainless one.
The axes use AC servo drives with a repeatable positioning accuracy of ± 0.01 mm, and the Z working range is 100 mm. The machine is 9505 mm long with the shuttle table, 2840 mm wide and 2000 mm high. Weight barely moves with power, 8943 kg at 3000 W and 8993 kg for both 6000 W and 8000 W, so the floor and rigging plan is the same whichever oscillator is ordered. The ENSIS 3015 AJe at 6000 W is listed at 9500 kg, and the REGIUS 3015 AJe at 6000 W at 11900 kg.
