Overview
The top of the VTS range, the You Ji VTS4000ATC, puts a Ø4,000 mm (157.5 in) table under a fixed cross-rail and drives it with a 100 kW (134.1 hp) motor. Maximum turning diameter is Ø4,500 mm (177.2 in) and the swing Ø4,800 mm (189.0 in).
Those envelope figures are larger than the table size suggests. You Ji's own VTL4000ATC turns Ø4,300 mm (169.3 in), and it takes the VTL4500ATC to reach Ø4,800 mm (189.0 in). The VTS4000ATC therefore covers most of the diameter of the bigger travelling-rail machine on a much smaller plot: 11,500 x 6,900 mm (452.8 x 271.7 in) and 6,800 mm (267.7 in) high.
The limit is height. With the rail fixed, parts can be no taller than 1,000 mm (39.4 in). Loading weight is 30,000 kg (66,138 lb) and the table turns at 1-60 rpm.
Ring-rolling mills and bearing makers are the obvious users: a 4.5 m ring is a flat part, and it is faced, bored and grooved in long cuts that reward a stiff rail and a big motor. The Capto C6 tool shank is used for both static and driven tools, and the series key lists a double ram build and ATC+C with C-axis function. There is no pallet changer at this size.
