Compact is the word for the Yawei HPE-3044. It is the smallest HPE servo turret punch press, taking sheet of 1,250 x 2,500 mm (49.2 x 98.4 in) with one repositioning, and it is only 2,300 mm (90.6 in) wide.
That width is less than half of the 5,000 mm (196.9 in) of the HPE-3048, and the weight drops to 14,000 kg (30,864 lb). Length and height, 5,610 mm (220.9 in) and 2,260 mm (89.0 in), are no smaller than on the larger 1,250 mm models, because the punching frame and turret are the same.
So is the punching performance. A shop that buys the small table still gets 294 kN of force, a 2,300 cpm punching frequency, 750 cpm with a 1 mm step, and sheet travel of 102 m/min. The largest punch is Φ88.9 mm (3.5 in). Carbon steel goes to 6.35 mm (0.25 in), stainless to 4 mm (0.16 in).
The limit is plain: one standard sheet, 1,250 mm by 2,500 mm, and nothing longer. Parts beyond that length have to go to another machine or be made in sections. For enclosure builders working from standard sheet, that is rarely a problem, and the saving in floor area is large. The servo head, touchscreen control and constant-mesh rotating station are as on every HPE, and working power is 6.1 kW (8.2 hp).
