How much does the WardJet J-106 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the WardJet J-106 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The WARDJet J-106 is a chain-fed, water-only production waterjet with a 1.84 m x 3.53 m cutting area and a top speed of 2500 in/min (63.5 m/min). It is built for parts cut from foam, rubber, insulation, plastic, cloth and similar materials in volume, where time lost between parts and between sheets counts for more than the last hundredth of a millimetre.
That priority shows in the table. The drive is a high precision rack and pinion on THK rails, and the accuracy figure is ± 0.010" per axis (± 0.25 mm per axis) with repeatability of ± 0.005" per axis. A ballscrew machine such as the H-2040 lists ± 0.003" per axis (± 0.08 mm per axis), but moves at 22.9 m/min. For soft goods with open tolerances, the J-Series trade is the right one.
Material handling is part of the machine. A chain feed system carries stock over cutting bricks, into and out of the cutting zone, above a sloped tank with a stainless steel bottom. The 11 m x 3.4 m footprint is about three times the length of the cutting area for that reason: the rest is conveyor. In-feed and out-feed tables, pinch feed rollers and laser sensing are offered to suit the line.
Up to 4 Z-carriages can be mounted, and WARDJet lists spreader bars and its 5-axis head among the options. Z-axis travel is 10" (0.25 m). The control software is IKUHLU with WARDCAM.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Speed range of 0.01 in/min - 2500 in/min (0.25 mm/min - 63.5 m/min)
- Chain feed system moves material in and out of the cutting zone to cut time between cycles
- Up to 4 Z-carriages on one gantry
- Sloped, stainless steel bottomed tank that directs water and debris to a central drain
- In-feed and out-feed options for fitting into an existing production line
Limitations
- Accuracy of ± 0.010" per axis (± 0.25 mm per axis) is looser than WARDJet's ballscrew machines
- The 11 m x 3.4 m footprint is large for a 1.84 m x 3.53 m cutting area
- Water-only, with no bulk feed hopper for abrasive
- Pinch feed rollers, laser sensing and feed tables are options to be specified

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The listed speed range is 0.01 in/min - 2500 in/min (0.25 mm/min - 63.5 m/min). WARDJet states that the J-Series can reach speeds of up to 2500ipm with automatic material feeding for fast, continuous production.
02
Pure-water cutting. WARDJet names foam, rubber, insulation, plastic, acrylics, cloth, leather and fiber board as the materials the J-Series was designed around. There is no abrasive hopper in the table.
03
The cutting area is 1.84 m x 3.53 m and the footprint is 11 m x 3.4 m. The J-Series uses a chain feed system that moves material in and out of the cutting zone, and conveyor length on either side of the gantry accounts for the difference.
04
The J-128 is the larger machine, with a 96" x 153" cutting area and a 40' 4" x 13' (12.3 m x 3.9 m) footprint. Drive, accuracy, the 2500 in/min top speed and the limit of 4 Z-carriages are listed the same for both.
