Overview

The Takisawa TT-1100G is a two-chuck CNC lathe with a built-in loader, sized for small parts: two 6 in (152 mm) chucks, a maximum turning diameter of 140 mm (5.5 in) and a maximum turning length of 121 mm (4.8 in). Each side has its own 10-station all-holder turret, one left and one right.

Everything in the table is tuned to short cycles. The loader is listed with a loading time of 1.7 s, and it carries parts up to φ80 × 80 mm (3.1 × 3.1 in) and 0.7 kg (1.5 lb), a figure the table marks ×2. Rapids are 24 m/min (945 in/min) in X and 30 m/min (1,181 in/min) in Z. With a chuck and a turret on each side, the usual pattern is the first operation on one side and the second on the other, with the loader moving the part between them. The table does not describe that transfer, so confirm how the part is turned over.

Spindle speed is 4,500 rpm as standard and 6,500 rpm as an option. The motor is rated 5.5 kW (7.4 hp) at 15-min and 3.7 kW (5.0 hp) continuous, with 7.5 / 5.5 kW (10.1 / 7.4 hp) as the option. Those are small motors, consistent with a 140 mm envelope: finishing and light roughing of near-net blanks, not heavy stock removal.

The work stocker has 14 pallets, each rated at 25 kg (55 lb), with a 450 mm (17.7 in) stacking height. Since one workpiece weighs at most 0.7 kg, the stacking height and not the pallet rating will usually set how many parts a pallet holds.

The machine needs 2,258 × 3,327 mm (88.9 × 131.0 in) of floor, stands 2,450 mm (96.5 in) high and weighs 5,800 kg (12,787 lb). That is a large footprint for a 140 mm envelope, so lay it out on the floor plan early.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Loading time of 1.7 s, which keeps non-cutting time low on short cycles
  • Two 6 in (152 mm) chucks, each served by its own 10-station all-holder turret
  • Work stocker with 14 pallets at 25 kg (55 lb) per pallet and a 450 mm (17.7 in) stacking height
  • 4,500 rpm standard spindle speed, with 6,500 rpm available as an option
  • Z rapid of 30 m/min (1,181 in/min), with X at 24 m/min (945 in/min)

Limitations

  • Envelope is small: 140 mm (5.5 in) maximum turning diameter and 121 mm (4.8 in) turning length
  • The loader is limited to workpieces of φ80 × 80 mm (3.1 × 3.1 in) and 0.7 kg (1.5 lb)
  • Standard motor is 5.5 / 3.7 kW (7.4 / 5.0 hp), and the larger 7.5 / 5.5 kW (10.1 / 7.4 hp) motor has to be ordered
  • Occupies 2,258 × 3,327 mm (88.9 × 131.0 in) and weighs 5,800 kg (12,787 lb), heavier than the TT-2100G at 5,200 kg (11,464 lb)
06

Best For

High-volume small parts up to 140 mm (5.5 in) in diameter Parts machined on both sides, one side per chuck Light workpieces up to 0.7 kg (1.5 lb) with a 1.7 s loading time Unattended runs from a 14-pallet work stocker

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What size of workpiece can the TT-1100G loader carry?

Up to φ80 × 80 mm (3.1 × 3.1 in) and 0.7 kg (1.5 lb), with the weight marked ×2 in the table. The lathe itself is listed with a maximum turning diameter of 140 mm (5.5 in) and a turning length of 121 mm (4.8 in), so the loader, not the chuck, sets the largest part in automatic running.

02 How fast is the loader?

The table gives a loading time of 1.7 s. On parts with cutting cycles of well under a minute, load time is a large share of the total, so this figure matters more than the rapids of X 24 / Z 30 m/min (945 / 1,181 in/min). The table does not state how the time is measured, so ask whether it covers a full exchange of finished and raw part.

03 How many tool stations does the TT-1100G have?

Each side has a 10-station all-holder turret, one on the left and one on the right, serving the two 6 in (152 mm) chucks. No 12-station option is listed for this model, whereas the TT-2100G can be ordered with 12 stations.

04 How does the TT-1100G compare with the TT-2100G?

The TT-2100G is the larger loader lathe: 240 mm (9.4 in) of turning diameter, a choice of 6 in or 8 in chuck pairs, and a rotary-tool version, the TT-2100CMG. The TT-1100G is limited to 140 mm (5.5 in) and 6 in chucks, but its Z rapid is 30 m/min (1,181 in/min) where the TT-2100G lists 24 m/min (945 in/min), and its optional spindle reaches 6,500 rpm.

05 What spindle power does the TT-1100G have?

The standard motor is rated 5.5 kW (7.4 hp) at 15-min and 3.7 kW (5.0 hp) continuous. The optional motor is 7.5 / 5.5 kW (10.1 / 7.4 hp). Standard maximum speed is 4,500 rpm and the optional spindle runs to 6,500 rpm.
