How much does the Takisawa TCN-2100 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Takisawa TCN-2100 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Takisawa TCN-2100 is an 8 in (203 mm) chuck CNC lathe that comes as four machines in one family: two bed lengths, L3 and L6, each as a turning lathe or as the TCN-2100CM for turning and milling. The headline figures are 410 mm (16.1 in) of turning diameter, 600 mm (23.6 in) of turning length on the long bed and an 11 kW (14.8 hp) spindle motor.
The L3 turns 300 mm (11.8 in) and the L6 twice that. The long bed adds to one side of the footprint only, 2,095 × 1,532 mm (82.5 × 60.3 in) against 1,750 × 1,532 mm (68.9 × 60.3 in), and takes the weight from 2,700 kg (5,952 lb) to 3,200 kg (7,055 lb). With 600 mm of turning length and a hydraulic tailstock only on the options list, anyone buying the L6 for shaft work should add the tailstock to the order.
Choosing the TCN-2100CM changes the envelope more than the name suggests. Its 12-station rotary-tool turret drives tools at 6,000 rpm with 5.5 kW (7.4 hp) on the 15-min rating and 3.7 kW (5.0 hp) continuous, but the maximum turning diameter drops to 280 mm (11.0 in) and turning length to 208 mm (8.2 in) on the L3 or 508 mm (20.0 in) on the L6. The CM machines weigh 2,800 and 3,300 kg. The table gives no Y-axis travel, so check what the milling version can reach before planning off-centre features around it.
On the turning machines the turret is a direct-mount type with 8 stations as standard and 12 as an option, and the larger turret limits turning diameter to 340 mm (13.4 in). The spindle runs to 3,200 rpm, or 5,000 rpm as an option, and the motor is rated 11 kW at 30-min, S3 60%, and 9 kW (12.1 hp) continuous. Bar capacity is 51 mm (2.0 in), depending on chuck and cylinder. Rapids are X 24 / Z 30 m/min (945 / 1,181 in/min).
For automation Takisawa lists the TCN-2100G with a gantry loader: workpieces up to φ160 × 100 mm and 3 kg, marked ×2 in the table, and a 16-pallet stocker at 40 kg per pallet with a 450 mm stacking height.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 600 mm (23.6 in) of turning length on the L6 bed, twice the 300 mm (11.8 in) of the L3, on the same 1,532 mm (60.3 in) depth
- 410 mm (16.1 in) maximum turning diameter with the standard 8-station direct-mount turret
- TCN-2100CM version adds a 12-station rotary-tool turret with 6,000 rpm driven tools
- 9 kW (12.1 hp) continuous spindle rating, against 7.5 kW (10.1 hp) on the TCC-2100
- TCN-2100G version pairs the lathe with a gantry loader and a 16-pallet stocker
Limitations
- The TCN-2100CM turns only 280 mm (11.0 in) in diameter and 208 / 508 mm (8.2 / 20.0 in) in length, well under the turning-only figures
- The optional 12-station turret reduces turning diameter to 340 mm (13.4 in)
- Hydraulic tailstock is optional even on the 600 mm (23.6 in) L6 bed
- Bar capacity is 51 mm (2.0 in); the TCN-2600 passes 74 mm (2.9 in)

Frequently Asked Questions
01
They are the two bed lengths. The L3 has 300 mm (11.8 in) of maximum turning length and the L6 has 600 mm (23.6 in). Floor space is 1,750 × 1,532 mm (68.9 × 60.3 in) for the L3 and 2,095 × 1,532 mm (82.5 × 60.3 in) for the L6, both 1,700 mm (66.9 in) high. Weight is 2,700 kg (5,952 lb) and 3,200 kg (7,055 lb).
02
The turret becomes a 12-station rotary-tool turret with tools driven at up to 6,000 rpm by a 5.5 / 3.7 kW (7.4 / 5.0 hp) motor, 15-min against continuous. The working envelope shrinks: 280 mm (11.0 in) of turning diameter, and 208 mm (8.2 in) of turning length on the L3 or 508 mm (20.0 in) on the L6. Weight is listed as 2,800 kg for the L3 and 3,300 kg for the L6.
03
The motor is listed at 11 / 9 kW (14.8 / 12.1 hp), where the higher figure is the 30-min, S3 60% rating and the lower one is continuous. Maximum speed is 3,200 rpm on the standard spindle, and a 5,000 rpm spindle is optional. Bar capacity is 51 mm (2.0 in), which the table says depends on the chuck and cylinder.
04
The TCN-2600 carries a 10 in (254 mm) chuck and passes 74 mm (2.9 in) bar, with 90 mm (3.5 in) as an option, but its turning lengths are shorter at 250 mm (9.8 in) and 550 mm (21.7 in). The TCN-2100 has the 8 in (203 mm) chuck, 51 mm (2.0 in) of bar capacity, and 300 mm and 600 mm of turning length. Both list an 11 / 9 kW motor, 3,200 rpm as standard and the same weights, so the choice is about chuck and bar size.
05
No. The table lists a hydraulic tailstock as optional. On the L3 bed, with 300 mm (11.8 in) of turning length, many chucking jobs will not need one. On the L6 bed, with 600 mm (23.6 in), slender parts generally need tail support, so the tailstock should be specified at order.
