Tajmac-ZPS MANURHIN K'MX 432

With four linear axes and a single tool rack, the MANURHIN K'MX 432 is the plainest of the 32 mm sliding-headstock lathes Tajmac-ZPS builds. It takes Ø 32 mm (1.3 in) bar through a Ø 37 mm spindle bore, turns 400 mm (15.7 in) on one stroke and runs both electro spindles to 10,000 rpm.

The bore matters more than it looks. Because it is 37 mm, the maker says the end of a 32 mm bar needs no modification for the bar feeder collet. Ø 36 mm bar is an optional modification on request.

The long stroke is the reason to pick this size. The headstock travels 410 mm, so the maker describes shafts up to 400 mm turned on one clamping, with longer shafts made by multiple clamping. The counter spindle has its own 300 mm stroke, holds 150 mm of part inside it and ejects parts up to 170 mm from the front; anything longer has to leave through the counter spindle, which is an option limited to parts of Ø 26 mm.

Tooling sits on one rack with X1 travel of 80 mm and Y1 travel of 191 mm. The table lists the turning positions as (2 x 5) : 10, for 16 x 16 mm shanks. Motorized tools on the rear or frontal part of the rack are optional, not standard. Where they are fitted, the brochure quotes live tool power of 2,3 kW and a gearbox giving 32 Nm of torque, and it recommends the optional jaw brakes for the spindles because the standard electromagnetic brake may not hold against heavy drilling or milling.

The main spindle is rated 5.5 / 7.5 kW (100% / 25%) and the counter spindle 3.7 / 5.5 kW (100% / 30 min). Allow for a machine of 3,000 x 1,460 x 1,860 mm and 4,500 kg, a 300 l coolant tank and a 32 kVA supply.
