SW BF 25-22S — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the SW BF 25-22S that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from SW or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The SW BF 25-22S is a twin-spindle machining center for long, slender parts. SW's page titles it the long and describes it as specialized for long components like extrusion profiles. The work space says the same: 2,500 mm (98.4 in) of X for each spindle against only 400 mm (15.7 in) of Y and 400 mm (15.7 in) of Z.

The spindles are 500 mm (19.7 in) apart, and the 4th axis has an interference circle of Ø 500 x 2,700 mm. Picture two extrusions clamped parallel along a rotary beam 2.7 metres long, each machined by its own spindle over its full length and turned to present every side.

SW lists side and cross members, subparts of battery housings, sills, crash profiles and guide rails as typical parts. On such profiles the work is holes, pockets and cut-outs spread along the length. The standard HSK-A63 spindle, with a 1-17,500 rpm range, 35 kW and 72 Nm, has ample capacity. An HSK-E50 spindle with a 1-40,000 rpm range, 18 kW and 11.5 Nm is marked optional.

Linear drives and independent Z axes are on the feature list. Independent Z matters on extrusions, which are never perfectly straight. Each spindle can follow its own profile in depth. Loading in parallel to machining time is also listed, and the model name ends in a 2 in the position SW uses for work tables.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 2,500 mm (98.4 in) of X travel per spindle for long profiles
  • Ø 500 x 2,700 mm interference circle on the 4th axis
  • Two spindles 500 mm (19.7 in) apart with independent Z axes
  • Linear drive technology in the feed axes
  • Optional HSK-E50 spindle with a 40,000 rpm range

Limitations

  • Only 400 mm (15.7 in) of Y and Z
  • Parts and fixtures must stay inside a Ø 500 mm swing
  • 72 Nm per spindle at most
  • SW's table lists no rapid traverse or magazine capacity

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the BF 25-22S made for?

Long components. SW's feature list calls it specialized for long components like extrusion profiles, and names side and cross members, subparts of battery housings, sills, crash profiles and guide rails as workpieces.

02 What are the travels of the BF 25-22S?

2,500 mm (98.4 in) in X, 400 mm (15.7 in) in Y and 400 mm (15.7 in) in Z per spindle. The spindle distance is 500 mm (19.7 in) and the interference circle of the 4th axis is Ø 500 x 2,700 mm.

03 Which spindles does the BF 25-22S have?

Two HSK-A63 spindles with a 1-17,500 rpm range, 35 kW and 72 Nm each. SW marks an HSK-E50 spindle as optional, with a 1-40,000 rpm range, 18 kW and 11.5 Nm.

04 Why are independent Z axes useful on this machine?

Extruded profiles vary in straightness and twist along their length. With independent Z axes, which SW lists among the flexibility features, each spindle can be corrected to its own part. Two profiles can then be held to depth tolerances at once.
