Supertec G25P-50CNC — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Supertec G25P-50CNC that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Supertec or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Largest of Supertec's compact CNC plunge grinders, the G25P-50CNC takes work up to Ø250 mm (Ø10 in) in diameter and 500 mm (20 in) between centers. The grinding wheel grows with it, to Ø455 × 50 × Ø127 mm (Ø18 × 2 × Ø5 in), and wheel speed drops to 1,650 rpm to suit the larger diameter.

What does not grow is the weight the centers will carry. The limit stays at 80 kg (176 lb), the same figure Supertec gives for the G18P-40CNC, and both centers remain MT 3. So this is a machine for larger-diameter but still light parts: sleeves, rolls and flanged shafts, not heavy solid bars.

The wheel spindle motor is 5 kW (6.7 hp). Infeed travel on X is 160 mm (6.3 in), with rapids of 6 m/min on X and 8 m/min on Z. Net weight is 3,100 kg (6,820 lb), and the packed machine measures 2,970 × 2,250 × 2,250 mm (117 × 89 × 89 in) at 3,500 kg (7,700 lb) gross, which is useful to know when planning the rigging.

Supertec's description of the series covers a ribbed Meehanite base, an automatic lubrication system for slideways, ballscrews and spindle, and hydraulic, coolant and lubrication units kept apart from the machine to hold vibration and heat away from it. A linear feedback system of 0.001mm is named for the saddle.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Ø250 mm (Ø10 in) swing and 500 mm (20 in) between centers, the largest envelope of the three small plunge models
  • Ø455 × 50 × Ø127 mm (Ø18 × 2 × Ø5 in) wheel driven by a 5 kW (6.7 hp) motor
  • Infeed travel of 160 mm (6.3 in) gives room for wheel wear and for a range of part diameters
  • Hydraulic, coolant and lubrication systems are separated from the machine, as Supertec describes the series

Limitations

  • Load between centers is still 80 kg (176 lb) despite the larger swing
  • MT 3 centers and a 0.375 kW (0.5 hp) workhead motor are carried over from the smaller machines
  • At 3,100 kg (6,820 lb) it is heavier than the 2,500 kg (5,511 lb) G18P-40CNC, so it needs more foundation and lifting capacity
  • Crash control, gap control and the touch probe are optional equipment

Best For

Light parts of larger diameter, up to Ø250 mm (Ø10 in) Shafts up to 500 mm (20 in) between centers Plunge and shoulder grinding with a 50 mm wide wheel Job shops that need CNC cycles on varied small batches

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How big a workpiece fits the Supertec G25P-50CNC?

Up to Ø250 mm (Ø10 in) maximum grinding diameter, 500 mm (20 in) between centers and 80 kg (176 lb) held between centers. The workhead spindle has a Ø20 mm (0.79 in) bore and both centers are MT 3.

02 What does the G25P-50CNC weigh and how is it shipped?

Net weight is 3,100 kg (6,820 lb) and gross weight 3,500 kg (7,700 lb). The packing dimension is 2,970 × 2,250 × 2,250 mm (117 × 89 × 89 in). The hydraulic, coolant and lubrication units stand apart from the machine, so allow floor space for them beside it.

03 What is the wheel speed and motor power?

The wheel turns at 1,650 rpm and Supertec lists a maximum peripheral speed range of 2,000~3,600 m/min. The wheel spindle motor is 5 kW (6.7 hp), the X and Z servo motors are 1.2 kW (1.6 hp) each, and the workhead motor is 0.375 kW (0.5 hp).

04 Is the workhead fixed or live?

The table lists the workhead spindle type as fixed and rotary, and the description calls it a combination live and dead-type spindle for quick changeover from center to chuck operation. Workhead speed is variable up to Max. 500 rpm.
