How much does the Reiden RX10 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Reiden RX10 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Reiden RX10 is the smallest of the four RX 5-axis machining centers Reiden lists, with 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of X, 1,100 mm (43.3 in) of Y and 810 mm (31.9 in) of Z. The two rotary axes are split between head and table. An automatic swiveling head, listed as standard, takes the spindle between horizontal and vertical (A axis 0+/-90°), and an NC rotary table of Ø 1,000 x 800 mm supplies the 360° C axis. Reiden describes it as a compact machine with a very small footprint and considerable processing space in relation to its dimensions.
Only one spindle is listed, which sets this model apart from the RX12 and its choice of two. It is an HSK63 unit rated 45 kW (60.3 hp) and 0 - 20,000 rpm, with torque of 130 / 159 Nm at 100 / 40 % ED. Those are figures for fast milling with small and medium cutters rather than for heavy roughing. Rapid traverse is 60 m/min (2,362 ipm). It is the only machine of the four for which a rapid figure is printed.
The tool changer comes in four sizes: 75 / 150 / 225 / 325 places, all HSK63. Tools can be 400 mm (15.7 in) long and 80 / 160 mm in diameter. The table doesn't say what the second diameter depends on, so ask before planning large cutters. Maximum rotary diameter over the table is Ø 1,350 mm (53.1 in), and it drops to Ø 1,050 mm (41.3 in) when a pallet changer is fitted. Pallets match the table at Ø 1,000 x 800 mm and carry 1,600 kg (3,527 lb), in changers for 2 or 5 pallets or with linear or circular storage.
Temperature is where Reiden spends most of its words. Bed and frame are mineral casting with 200 meters of cast-in cooling lines, and the same circuit keeps the milling head, the feed motors, the gears of the rotary axes and the guides at ambient temperature. The closed system can run permanently, overnight included. The machine weighs 18,200 kg (40,123 lb) and measures 5,810 x 4,005 x 3,230 mm. Control is a Heidenhain TNC7 or a Siemens Sinumerik One.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- HSK63 spindle running 0 - 20,000 rpm on 45 kW (60.3 hp), with 130 / 159 Nm at 100 / 40 % ED
- Rapid traverse of 60 m/min (2,362 ipm)
- Active temperature control of bed and frame through 200 meters of cast-in cooling lines in the mineral casting
- The automatic swiveling head between horizontal and vertical is standard, so five sides of a part are reached from one clamping
- Tool changer offered with 75 / 150 / 225 / 325 HSK63 places
- Pallets of Ø 1,000 x 800 mm carrying 1,600 kg (3,527 lb), from a 2-pallet changer up to linear or circular storage
Limitations
- Z travel is 810 mm (31.9 in), the shortest of the RX machines; the RX12 lists 1,000 mm
- Only the 45 kW HSK63 spindle is listed; the 84 kW HSK100 spindle starts with the RX12
- Fitting a pallet changer cuts the maximum rotary diameter from Ø 1,350 mm (53.1 in) to Ø 1,050 mm (41.3 in)
- Spindle torque peaks at 159 Nm at 40 % ED, which limits heavy roughing with large cutters
- The RX10 table lists no turning table, although Reiden's history records a turning function for the RX10 from 2015; confirm what is offered

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X is 1,000 mm (39.4 in), Y is 1,100 mm (43.3 in) and Z is 810 mm (31.9 in). The A axis, in the swiveling head, is listed as 0+/-90° and the C axis, in the rotary table, as 360°. Rapid traverse is 60 m/min (2,362 ipm).
02
One spindle is listed: HSK63, 45 kW (60.3 hp), 0 - 20,000 rpm, with 130 / 159 Nm of torque at 100 / 40 % ED. If the work needs more torque, the RX12 is the first model in the range to list an HSK100 spindle, rated 84 kW and 300 / 452 Nm.
03
The NC rotary table measures Ø 1,000 x 800 mm and the maximum rotary diameter is Ø 1,350 mm (53.1 in). With a pallet changer the diameter is limited to Ø 1,050 mm (41.3 in), and each pallet carries up to 1,600 kg (3,527 lb). Reiden prints no load figure for the fixed table, so ask if the machine is bought without pallets.
04
The table gives 5,810 x 4,005 x 3,230 mm as length x width x height and a weight of 18,200 kg (40,123 lb). In its description Reiden also states a space requirement of 4.6 x 4.8 meters. The two figures don't match, so ask which machine configuration each one describes before planning the installation.
05
Reiden lists the Heidenhain TNC7 and the Siemens Sinumerik One without marking either as the standard. Pallet systems come with 2 or 5 pallets, or as linear or circular storage, and Reiden says the machine can be upgraded in stages towards a linear storage unit without losing accessibility.
