Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Quaser MV4 (#40) that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Quaser MV4 (#40) is the 40 taper version of the MV4, a vertical machining center with 1,270 mm (50.0") of X travel, 700 mm (27.6") of Y and 610 mm (24.0") of Z. Quaser also lists an MV4 (#50) on the same frame, and the two share everything in the work range.
What separates this model from the smaller MV3 is the table rating more than the travel. The 1,400 x 700 mm (55.1" x 27.6") table carries 1,800 kg (3,968 lbs), against 500 kg (1,102 lbs) on the MV3. Steel plate work, mold bases and heavy fixtures with several parts become practical.
On the spindle side, the #40 column of Quaser's table gives a maximum speed of 12K ~ 24K. Choose this version when the work is aluminium, small cutters or finishing passes where speed matters more than low-end torque. The MV4 (#50) is listed at 7.5K ~ 15K and is the one for large face mills.
The magazine holds 30 tools as standard. Tools are limited to 76.2 mm (3") in diameter, 125 mm (4.9") with the neighboring pots empty, and 280 mm (11.0") in length. Quaser says the MV series is offered in a variety of machine and control specifications, with X travels from 1,270 mm (50 inch) to 2,040 mm (80 inch); the MV4 is the entry point of that upper group.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Table load of 1,800 kg (3,968 lbs) on a 1,400 x 700 mm (55.1" x 27.6") table
- 1,270 mm (50.0") of X travel with a full 700 mm (27.6") of Y
- Maximum spindle speed listed as 12K ~ 24K, the faster of the two MV4 spindle families
- Quaser offers the series with a variety of machine and control specifications
Limitations
- Tool diameter is limited to 76.2 mm (3") with a full magazine; the MV4 (#50) takes 125 mm (4.9")
- Z travel is 610 mm (24.0"), no more than the smaller MV3
- No spindle power or torque is published, so the 12K ~ 24K options cannot be compared from the page
- Maximum tool length of 280 mm (11.0") is shorter than the 350 mm (13.8") of the MV4 (#50)

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The spindle and the tools it takes. The MV4 (#40) has a 40 taper spindle listed at 12K ~ 24K with tools up to 76.2 mm (3") in diameter and 280 mm (11.0") long. The MV4 (#50) has a 50 taper spindle listed at 7.5K ~ 15K with tools up to 125 mm (4.9") in diameter and 350 mm (13.8") long. Table, travels and load are the same.
02
The table measures 1,400 x 700 mm (55.1" x 27.6") and is rated for 1,800 kg (3,968 lbs). Y travel is 700 mm (27.6"), so the spindle reaches the whole width of the table.
03
1,270 mm (50.0") in X, 700 mm (27.6") in Y and 610 mm (24.0") in Z. Quaser describes the MV series as running from 1,270 mm (50 inch) to 2,040 mm (80 inch) of X travel, which makes this the shortest machine of that group.

30 as standard. With every pot filled the maximum tool diameter is 76.2 mm (3"); it rises to 125 mm (4.9") when the neighboring pots are empty. Maximum tool length is 280 mm (11.0").
