Overview
The Prima Power Laser Next Core 2131 is the compact 3D fiber laser of the Laser Next line, aimed at job shops and small to medium batches. Axis strokes are X 3,160 mm (124.4 in), Y 2,100 mm (82.7 in) and Z 750 mm (29.5 in).
Where the larger Laser Next machines chase cycle time, this one is set up for quick changeovers. Programming is described as one-click from CAM, and the operator has a graphical teach panel beside the Prima Power HMI. Head offset is compensated automatically through the local C axis in the head, which has a stroke of ±12 mm (±0.47 in). The tables are height-adjustable with two positions, which helps when loading parts of different depth by hand.
Speeds are moderate: 90 m/min on X, Y and Z and 155.9 m/min on trajectory. The drives are maintenance-free linear drives with direct motors on the head. A is 360° and B ±135°. Accuracy (Pa, Ps) is 0.03 mm to VDI 3441.
The process range is wide for the size. Prima Power lists 2D and 3D laser cutting of stainless steel, aluminum and titanium, and an optional welding head for lap and butt joints. A safe cutting nozzle is said to save up to 30% nitrogen. The source is 3,000 W – 4,000 W. Prima Power also claims a working volume 58% larger than others in its class with a footprint reduced by 25%; it gives no floor dimensions on the page, so ask for the layout drawing.
