How much does the Onsrud 146C 5-Axis cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Onsrud 146C 5-Axis that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Onsrud 146C 5-Axis is the largest C-Series 5-axis machine, with twin tables of 60 in (1,524 mm) by 72 in (1,829 mm) and 4 vacuum zones. A 5-axis head on the fixed bridge serves both tables.
Four zones are double what the two smaller sizes carry. Two zones per table let a fixture and a flat part share a table, or let half a table be switched off.
Onsrud's table lists the 146C 5-Axis as a standard machine and as a Z-Ram machine. Standard means a 16 in (406 mm) Z-stroke in a machine 136 in (3,455 mm) long and 142 in (3,607 mm) high. The Z-Ram is 129 in (3,277 mm) long and stands 146 in (3,709 mm) high with a 28 in (711 mm) stroke or 166 in (4,217 mm) with 40 in (1,016 mm). Both are 261 in (6,630 mm) wide.
For a buyer the practical question is part height. Sixteen inches of Z covers trimmed panels and shallow formed parts. Deep moulds, seat shells and tall assemblies need the Z-Ram, and the building needs the headroom for it.
Tooling is 12 positions as standard. A second spindle, a second tool changer and continuous C are optional, and the control is FANUC or Onsrud's touchscreen interface.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Each of the two tables is 60 in (1,524 mm) by 72 in (1,829 mm). The machine has 4 vacuum zones as standard and is 261 in (6,630 mm) wide.
02
16 in (406 mm) on the standard machine, and 28 in (711 mm) or 40 in (1,016 mm) on the Z-Ram version. Machine height is 142 in (3,607 mm), 146 in (3,709 mm) and 166 in (4,217 mm) respectively.
03
Onsrud uses both terms. Its page describes an industrial 5-axis fixed bridge machining center under a CNC router heading, and the maker's lineup lists the C-Series among its 5-axis routers.
04
The twin tables allow one part to be loaded while another is machined. With the optional second spindle Onsrud describes dual process capability, where both tables are cut in the same period.
