Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Messer Titan III that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Messer Titan III is a mid-size rail gantry built for bevel cutting with plasma and oxyfuel. Cutting widths run from 6 ft to 16 ft (1.8 m to 4.9 m), cutting lengths go up to 150 ft (45.7 m), and it cuts 26 ga. up to 12 in (305 mm) thick plate. Positioning speed is up to 1,700 ipm (43.2 m/min).
It covers the same widths and lengths as the Element 400 but is the heavier-duty of the two in what it carries and cuts. Up to eight torch stations fit the beam where the Element 400 lists six, and plate thickness goes to 12 in (305 mm) against 8 in (203 mm). Only two of the stations can be plasma, and three stations at most cover the full rated width, so wide multi-torch stripping uses part of the table.
The drive is a 21 hp (15.7 kW) brushless digital system for the X and Y axes, working through a pitch line rack and pinion that Messer calls SureTrack, with linear ways on the Y-axis. The end trucks are wide, to spread the guide rollers and steady the X-axis. Beam rigidity is given as less than 0.001 in bend and 0.002 degrees of twist, and motion accuracy as +/- 0.010 in (0.25 mm) with 0.010 in (0.25 mm) repeatability, compensated in 72 in (1,829 mm).
For beveling, the Deltae rotator cuts from +45° to -45° and turns at up to 50 RPM through +/- 460°. Oxyfuel bevel units come in single and three position versions. An electric drill unit for holes up to 1/2 in (12.7 mm) in diameter, plate markers and a rotary pipe and tube system are further options. The Global ControlPlus control has a 24 in screen in an IP65 enclosure and an 8-way joystick.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Up to eight torch stations on cutting widths from 6 ft to 16 ft (1.8 m to 4.9 m)
- Cuts plate up to 12 in (305 mm) thick
- Positioning speeds up to 1,700 ipm (43.2 m/min) from a 21 hp (15.7 kW) brushless drive
- Optional Deltae rotator bevels from +45° to -45°
- Beam rigidity of less than 0.001 in bend and 0.002 degrees of twist
Limitations
- A maximum of two plasma stations
- Three torch stations at most cover the full rated cutting width
- Optional drilling is limited to 1/2 in (12.7 mm) diameter; the Element 500 drills to 1 9/16 in (39.7 mm)
- Cutting width stops at 16 ft; wider plate needs the MPC2000

Cutting widths from 6 ft to 16 ft (1.8 m to 4.9 m) and cutting lengths up to 150 ft (45.7 m). It cuts material from 26 ga. up to 12 in (305 mm) thick plate in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Power track in both axes is standard.
02
Up to eight torch stations, of which a maximum of two can be plasma. Up to three torch stations will cover the full rated cutting width. Oxyfuel torches are the Turbo Flame or the ALFA, with automatic torch spacing as an option.
03
Positioning speeds are up to 1,700 ipm (43.2 m/min) and contouring speeds up to 400 ipm (10.2 m/min). Machine motion accuracy is +/- 0.010 in (0.25 mm) with 0.010 in (0.25 mm) repeatability, as compensated machine motion in 72 in (1,829 mm), measured with a laser interferometer.
04
For plasma, the Deltae rotator, which cuts from +45° to -45° and rotates at up to 50 RPM through +/- 460°, and a manual stripping bevel unit for the X-axis. For oxyfuel, single position and three position bevel units.

The Global ControlPlus, a Windows based control with a 24 in touch screen. The brochure describes a shape library, CAD import and true-shape nesting, an 8-way joystick among the operator tools, and remote support through Virtual Service. The console mounts on the right or left and tilts and swivels.
