Overview
The Mazak INTEGREX e-670H is the mid-range heavy-duty horizontal multi-tasking machine in Mazak's e-Series, positioned between the e-500H and e-800H. With an 18 to 32-inch chuck range and 1,070 mm (42.13 in) max machining diameter, it fills the gap for shops working on large shaft-type components that exceed the e-500H's 32-inch swing but don't require the e-800H's 51-inch capacity.
The Y-axis travel of 670 mm (26.38 in) is the defining specification and gives the machine its name. This enormous off-center reach enables milling, drilling, and boring operations that are physically impossible on smaller multi-tasking machines. The milling spindle runs to 12,000 RPM with approximately 30 kW through No. 50, Capto C8, or HSK-A100 tooling, providing genuine machining center capability on very large parts.
The B-axis swings 240 degrees with roller cam drive and 0.0001-degree indexing resolution. The main turning spindle uses a built-in motor design with up to 2,500 RPM and approximately 45 kW of power. Bed length options accommodate workpieces from 1,500 mm to 4,000 mm (59 to 157 in). The integrated long boring bar system handles deep ID work with tools up to 1,500 mm in length.
The standard 40-tool ATC handles most jobs, with 80 and 120-tool options. MAZATROL SmoothAi with Ai Thermal Shield. Machine weight approximately 35,000 kg (77,162 lb). Available in -S (second spindle) and -ST (second spindle plus lower turret) variants. New machines $700,000-$1,100,000. Specs sourced from Mazak published data and scaled from sibling e-500H and e-800H specifications.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 670 mm (26.38 in) Y-axis travel is exceptional, enabling off-center milling and boring operations impossible on the smaller e-500H
- 1,070 mm max machining diameter handles large-diameter shaft and chucked work that exceeds the e-500H's 32-inch swing
- 18-32 inch chuck range accommodates the widest variety of large workpiece geometries in this class
- Integrated long boring bar system with automatic head changing eliminates separate boring mill for deep ID work
- 240-degree B-axis with 0.0001-degree resolution delivers 5-axis positioning accuracy on very large parts
- Bed lengths up to 4,000 mm handle extremely long shaft-type workpieces in a single setup
Limitations
- $700K-$1.1M investment requires consistent flow of large high-value parts to justify the capital
- 35,000 kg machine weight requires heavily engineered foundations and professional rigging
- 2,500 RPM main spindle optimized for large-diameter torque, not high-speed small-diameter turning
- Programming complexity is extreme; specialized CAM post processors and experienced programmers required

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Base configuration starts around $700,000. Production setups with extended bed, 80-tool magazine, and boring bar system run $900K-$1.1M. The -S and -ST variants add $100K-$200K. Used units from 2010-2018 trade $250K-$550K.
02
The e-670H is larger in every dimension: 42 vs 32 inch max diameter, 26.38 vs 19.69 inch Y-axis, 18-32 vs 15-21 inch chuck. Step up to the e-670H when parts exceed the e-500H's capacity. The e-500H is better value if parts fit.
03
The e-800H is even larger at 51 inch diameter and 31.5 inch Y-axis, with 24-50 inch chuck range. Choose e-670H when parts fit under 42 inches and save substantial capital. Step to e-800H only when the e-670H envelope is too small.
04
Base e-670H with tailstock, -S with second spindle replacing tailstock for done-in-one processing, and -ST with second spindle plus lower turret for simultaneous cutting. -S is most popular for aerospace where both-end machining eliminates refixturing.
