Machitech Beamcut BC25 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Machitech Beamcut BC25 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Machitech Automation or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

For shops whose heaviest section is a mid-size beam, the Machitech Beamcut BC25 is the smaller robotic plasma cell. It handles beams from Min 4 x 4 in (102 x 102 mm); max 30 x 12 in (762 x 305 mm) and cuts them with a Hypertherm XPR170, XPR300 or XPR460 torch on a FANUC 6-axis robotic arm.

The other profile limits scale with it. HSS and angle run to 12 x 12 in (305 x 305 mm), T beam to 29 x 12 in (737 x 305 mm), and channel to the same size as beam. Optional pipe cutting covers 2 in (51 mm) to 12 in (305 mm). What does not shrink is the process capability: thickness is still up to 3 in (76 mm), the weld prep bevel is still 52°, and etching and marking are included, as on the larger BC50.

One line in the table needs attention before ordering. Drilling and machining is not available on the BC25. Every hole is a plasma hole. Machitech states that Beamcut meets AISC and CISC requirements for thermally cut holes in structural bolted connections, and the software flags holes that fall outside what plasma can cut and converts them to layout marks for drilling by hand. A fabricator whose contracts demand drilled holes throughout needs the BC50 with its spindle unit.

The cell is otherwise the same system: photo-laser measuring of each piece, a mobile measuring unit on the infeed, a safety-latched enclosure and a touchscreen console with camera monitoring. Minimum material length is 48 in (1,219 mm), and maximum length depends on the conveyors ordered. Cross transfers are optional and customizable.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Beams and channel up to 30 x 12 in (762 x 305 mm)
  • Same 3 in (76 mm) thickness and 52° weld prep bevel as the BC50
  • Etching and marking included; cutting and marking on 4 sides is standard
  • Automatic simulation of every robot movement before the cut
  • Laser measuring system unaffected by rust, paint or debris

Limitations

  • Drilling and machining is not available
  • HSS and angle are limited to 12 x 12 in (305 x 305 mm)
  • Material shorter than 48 in (1,219 mm) cannot be processed
  • Pipe cutting, cross transfers and the dust collector are options

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What sizes does the Beamcut BC25 handle?

Beam and channel up to 30 x 12 in (762 x 305 mm), T beam up to 29 x 12 in (737 x 305 mm), HSS and angle up to 12 x 12 in (305 x 305 mm). Material thickness is up to 3 in (76 mm) and the minimum material length is 48 in (1,219 mm).

02 Can the BC25 drill holes?

No. The table lists drilling and machining as not available on the BC25. Holes are cut with plasma. The optional 3-spindle drilling and milling unit is offered on the BC50 only.

03 Does it cut pipe?

Pipe cutting is an option, for diameters from 2 in (51 mm) to 12 in (305 mm). Beam, T beam, HSS, angle, channel, bulb flat and flat bar are covered by the standard cell, and custom profiles are supported on request.

04 Which plasma sources are used?

Hypertherm XPR170, XPR300 or XPR460. Machitech describes full integration with XPR plasma for bolt-ready hole precision. The largest flat bar size requires XPR plasma according to the table note.
