LVD ToolCell 220/30 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the LVD ToolCell 220/30 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from LVD or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Take the frame of the smallest tool-changing LVD press brake and raise the force by more than half: that is the LVD ToolCell 220/30. It keeps the 3,050 mm (120.1 in) working length and the 4,000 mm (157.5 in) between uprights, and delivers 2,200 kN at 285 bar.

The extra force costs speed and mass. Approach drops to 120 mm/s and working speed to 21 mm/s, while the main motor grows to 37 kW and the oil tank to 350 L. Weight is 24,500 kg (54,012 lb). For a shop that bends mostly thin sheet the ToolCell 135/30 cycles faster; this model is for the same part lengths in thicker or stronger material, or with narrower dies.

What stays the same is the reason to buy a ToolCell at all. Tools live in a warehouse inside the machine. Grippers in the backgauge fingers fetch and place them while the operator gets the next job ready, so a change of punch or die is no longer a reason to group jobs into long runs. LVD's Easy-Form Laser system measures the angle during the bend and corrects the punch position without stopping.

The standard table is 120 mm (4.7 in) wide and rated at 2,000 kN/m. Open height is 500-600 mm (19.7-23.6 in) with a 300-400 mm (11.8-15.7 in) stroke. If the work needs taller parts or a heavier table, the ToolCell 220/30 PLUS has a 200 mm table rated at 2,500 kN/m and 570-670 mm of open height on the same length.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 2,200 kN on a 3,050 mm (120.1 in) working length with automatic tool changing
  • 37 kW main motor governed by a variable frequency drive
  • Easy-Form Laser angle correction during the bend, as standard
  • Backgauge moves in 6 axes for parallel and non-parallel parts
  • Choice of standard or taller punch and die sets on the standard ToolCell

Limitations

  • Approach speed of 120 mm/s, a third lower than the 180 mm/s of the ToolCell 135/30
  • 24,500 kg (54,012 lb) needs a floor and a crane to match
  • Standard table limited to 2,000 kN/m and 120 mm (4.7 in) width
  • Front supports and sheet followers are extra-cost options

Best For

Mixed batches in thicker sheet up to 3,050 mm long Jobs that change tooling several times a shift Parts where the first bend has to be on angle Subcontract bending with small to medium batches

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What separates the ToolCell 220/30 from the PLUS version?

Force, length, speeds and motor are identical. The ToolCell 220/30 PLUS has a 200 mm wide table rated at 2,500 kN/m and an open height of 570-670 mm, and weighs 25,000 kg. The standard machine has a 120 mm table rated at 2,000 kN/m, 500-600 mm of open height and weighs 24,500 kg.

02 How fast is the ram?

Approach is 120 mm/s, working speed 21 mm/s and return 200 mm/s. LVD notes that the approach figure applies in CE countries only when the machine has an optional safety system, and that working speed in those countries is limited by safety norms.

03 Is the tool store a separate unit?

No. LVD states that the tooling warehouse is integrated into the machine and takes no extra space next to it. That is consistent with the 4,000 mm (157.5 in) between the uprights on a machine with a 3,050 mm working length.

04 What does the Easy-Form Laser system do on this machine?

It measures the bend angle while the part is being formed and sends the reading to the CNC control, which adjusts the punch position to reach the programmed angle. LVD says the bending process is not interrupted and no production time is lost.
