Price estimate
We do not have a price for the LVD PPED 320/40 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Top of the PPED line, the LVD PPED 320/40 has 3,200 kN and a 4,000 mm (157.5 in) working length. LVD positions the PPED as its practical, economical press brake, and this is as large as that idea goes.
A useful way to read the machine is against the PPEB 320/40, LVD's configurable press brake of the same force and length. The PPEB 320/40 lists a 37 kW motor, a 14 mm/s bending speed, a 120 mm/s approach and a 570 mm open height. The PPED answers with 22 kW, 8 mm/s, 75 mm/s and 670 mm (26.4 in). So the PPED is the slower machine by a wide margin, and the one with more daylight as standard.
That tells you who it is for. A shop that bends heavy, long parts a few times a day will not miss the speed. A shop running batches of them will.
Stroke is 300 mm (11.8 in), the table 250 mm (9.8 in) wide, the gap 300 mm, and the uprights 3,150 mm (124.0 in) apart. Return speed is 75 mm/s and the tank holds 400 L. As with the other PPED sizes above 80 tons, CNC crowning is standard on the PPED-5 and PPED-7 versions, and the backgauge has two or four programmable axes.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 3,200 kN across 4,000 mm (157.5 in), the largest PPED
- 670 mm (26.4 in) of open height as the standard figure
- 22 kW motor for a machine of this force
- 250 mm (9.8 in) table and 300 mm (11.8 in) gap
- Touch-B control with all axes synchronised
Limitations
- 8 mm/s working speed and 75 mm/s approach
- Backgauge tops out at four axes (X, R, Z1, Z2)
- Table load of 1,000 kN/m, as on the smallest PPED
- Easy-Form Laser angle measurement is not listed for the PPED

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Same force class and working length, different pace. The PPEB 320/40 has a 37 kW motor, 120 mm/s approach and 14 mm/s bending speed with 570 mm of open height. The PPED lists 22 kW, 75 mm/s, 8 mm/s and 670 mm.
02
A programmable backgauge with X and R axes, or with X, R, Z1 and Z2. LVD names three PPED versions, PPED-4, PPED-5 and PPED-7, each with a 2-axis or 4-axis backgauge as standard.
03
4,000 mm (157.5 in) working length, 3,150 mm (124.0 in) between uprights, a 300 mm (11.8 in) gap, 670 mm (26.4 in) of open height and a 300 mm stroke. Working height is 1,000 mm (39.4 in).
04
Not on the PPED page. The table lists force, dimensions, speeds, motor power and a 400 L oil volume but no machine weight, so foundation loads have to come from LVD's installation drawing.
