LVD Easy-Form 400/51 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the LVD Easy-Form 400/51 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from LVD or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

With the LVD Easy-Form 400/51, LVD takes 4,000 kN to a 5,100 mm (200.8 in) working length. The machine weighs 34,000 kg (74,956 lb) and clears 4,270 mm (168.1 in) between its uprights.

It shares that frame opening with the Easy-Form 320/51, and the comparison between the two is instructive. The Easy-Form 320/51 weighs 29,000 kg and stands with its bed at 1,035 mm. This one is heavier, as expected, yet its working height is 970 mm (38.2 in). LVD evidently builds the 4,000 kN group on a different structure, and the operator benefits from the lower table.

The ram runs at 100 mm/s on approach, 11 mm/s in the bend and 120 mm/s on return. Against the Easy-Form 320/51, with 14 mm/s and 130 mm/s, that is a small sacrifice for a quarter more force.

Five-metre plate parts are rarely simple. Boom sections have several bends at shallow angles, each of which must be right for the box to close on the weld line. A system that measures each angle as it forms is of direct use there, and LVD's crowning, cut for the individual machine, keeps the angle the same from end to end.

Stroke 300 mm (11.8 in), open height 570 mm (22.4 in), table 200 mm (7.9 in) at 2,500 kN/m. Motor 37 kW; oil 500 L at 290 bar.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 4,000 kN on 5,100 mm (200.8 in)
  • 970 mm (38.2 in) working height, lower than the Easy-Form 320/51
  • A quarter more force than the Easy-Form 320/51
  • Angle measured on every bend of multi-bend plate sections
  • 4,270 mm (168.1 in) between uprights

Limitations

  • 34,000 kg (74,956 lb) of machine to found
  • Bends at 11 mm/s, where the Easy-Form 320/51 lists 14 mm/s
  • Frame opening well short of the working length
  • 500 L of oil in the hydraulic system

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How does the Easy-Form 400/51 compare with the Easy-Form 320/51?

The Easy-Form 320/51 has 3,200 kN, weighs 29,000 kg, works at 14 mm/s and has a 1,035 mm working height. This machine has 4,000 kN, weighs 34,000 kg, works at 11 mm/s and has a 970 mm working height. Both clear 4,270 mm between uprights.

02 Why does in-process measurement matter on boom sections?

A closed section is made from several bends whose errors add up. LVD's scanners measure the angle of each bend while it is formed and the control corrects the punch position, so each bend is right before the next begins.

03 What does the machine weigh?

34,000 kg (74,956 lb), with 500 L of oil on board. The Easy-Form 400/45 is listed at 32,000 kg and the Easy-Form 400/61 at 37,000 kg.

04 What is the open height?

570 mm (22.4 in) from table to ram, with a 300 mm (11.8 in) stroke. LVD offers further increases in 100 mm steps as an option, together with a deeper gap.
