LVD PPEC 170/40 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the LVD PPEC 170/40 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from LVD or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The LVD PPEC 170/40 is the first four-metre PPEC, with a 4,000 mm (157.5 in) working length and 1,700 kN. LVD sells the PPEC in non-CE markets only.

It is a lengthened PPEC 170/32, and LVD's table says so row by row. Stroke stays at 220 mm (8.7 in), open height at 460 mm (18.1 in), throat at 410 mm (16.1 in), table width at 100 mm (3.9 in). Speeds are 200 mm/s on approach, 13 mm/s in the bend and 180 mm/s on return. Tank volume is 350 L and the servo motor is listed at 13.2/15 kW.

The frame grows by a metre. There are 3,150 mm (124.0 in) between the uprights, and the machine is 4,500 mm (177.2 in) long. Width and height remain 1,800 mm (70.9 in) and 2,650 mm (104.3 in).

On a bed of this length the series' standard features start to matter. A slim table 100 mm wide over four metres relies on crowning to stay parallel to the ram under load, and LVD says it designs the crowning for every PPEC. The front sheet support arms hold long blanks level, which on a four-metre sheet is the difference between one operator and two.

If long parts are also heavy, programmable sheet followers are on the option list. For more force at this length the series continues with the PPEC 220/40.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 4,000 mm (157.5 in) working length with 200 mm/s approach
  • 3,150 mm (124.0 in) between uprights and a 410 mm (16.1 in) throat
  • Height of only 2,650 mm (104.3 in)
  • Crowning designed for the machine
  • Front sheet support arms as standard

Limitations

  • Sold outside CE markets only
  • 100 mm (3.9 in) table on a four-metre bed
  • 1,700 kN is light at full length
  • Open height of 460 mm (18.1 in)

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What changes between the PPEC 170/32 and the PPEC 170/40?

The PPEC 170/32 has a 3,200 mm bed, 2,600 mm between uprights and a machine length of 3,500 mm. This model has a 4,000 mm bed, 3,150 mm between uprights and a length of 4,500 mm. Everything else in the table is the same.

02 How tall is it?

2,650 mm (104.3 in). The PPEC 220/40, the stronger four-metre model, is 3,200 mm high, so this machine fits under a lower roof or crane.

03 What do the front sheet supports do?

LVD describes them as standard arms that keep the sheet level and hold and guide the material as it bends, for better results and greater operator safety.

04 Which axes are controlled?

Y1-Y2-X-V-R, the PPEC-5 set in LVD's table. LVD also describes the PPEC backgauge as a multi-axis system for high precision and flexibility.
