Liebherr LGP 2000 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Liebherr LGP 2000 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Liebherr or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Liebherr LGP 2000 is a gear grinding machine for workpieces up to 2,000 mm (78.7 in) in diameter with 1,200 mm (47.2 in) of axial travel. At that size the work is large wheels and ring gears, and the rest of the table follows from it: workpiece speed is 30 rpm and the grinding head swivels through 120°.

The grinding head is the PGH 450 FX, which Liebherr lists in two forms: Universal, with a single spindle, or High Performance, with twin spindles. Maximum grinding disc width is 160 mm (6.3 in). An internal grinding arm is optional, so internal gears are not covered by the base machine. A buyer with both external and internal gears in the plan should include the arm in the specification from the start.

Automation is where the table draws a line inside the machine's own capacity. The ringloader is listed for parts up to 800 mm (31.5 in) in diameter, well short of the 2,000 mm (78.7 in) the machine can grind, and pallet changers are the other listed form of automation. Decide how the largest parts will reach the table before choosing between them.

Control is Liebherr's LHGearTec, with an LHMobile handheld terminal that has a 10-inch multi-touch screen. On a machine of this size a handheld unit lets the operator stand at the workpiece during setup instead of at the main panel. Liebherr's page states no module limit, spindle power or machine weight for this model, so ask for those figures with the quotation.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Grinds workpieces up to 2,000 mm (78.7 in) in diameter with 1,200 mm (47.2 in) of axial travel
  • PGH 450 FX grinding head offered as Universal single-spindle or High Performance twin-spindle
  • Grinding head swivel angle of 120° and grinding discs up to 160 mm (6.3 in) wide
  • Automation by ringloader or pallet changers, with LHGearTec control and an LHMobile handheld terminal

Limitations

  • Internal grinding needs the optional internal grinding arm
  • The ringloader only takes parts up to 800 mm (31.5 in) in diameter, against a 2,000 mm (78.7 in) machine capacity
  • A workpiece speed of 30 rpm suits large gears, not small parts that need a fast table

Best For

Large external gears up to 2,000 mm (78.7 in) in diameter Internal gears, with the optional internal grinding arm Wide-faced gears within 1,200 mm (47.2 in) of axial travel Ringloader-fed parts up to 800 mm (31.5 in) in diameter

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What size gear can the LGP 2000 grind?

Workpieces up to 2,000 mm (78.7 in) in diameter, with 1,200 mm (47.2 in) of axial travel. The grinding disc can be up to 160 mm (6.3 in) wide and the workpiece turns at 30 rpm. Liebherr's page gives no module limit for this model.

02 Can the LGP 2000 grind internal gears?

Yes, but only with an option. Liebherr lists an internal grinding arm as optional equipment, so a base machine grinds external gears. If internal gears are part of the work, the arm has to be ordered with the machine.

03 What grinding head does the LGP 2000 use?

The PGH 450 FX. Liebherr lists it as either a Universal single-spindle head or a High Performance twin-spindle head. The head has a swivel angle of 120° and takes grinding discs up to 160 mm (6.3 in) wide.

04 What automation is offered for the LGP 2000?

A ringloader for parts up to 800 mm (31.5 in) in diameter, and pallet changers. The ringloader limit is well below the 2,000 mm (78.7 in) maximum workpiece diameter, so the largest parts cannot be loaded by it.
